Astral Projection Is Not Satanic

I am writing this because of an argument I had with someone online about astral projection.

Astral projection has nothing to do with 'Satan' or black magic.

I have never seen or encountered a being called Satan. Nor have I any connection with Satanism. I believe that the word 'Satan' is used as a scare tactic by those who do not understand the astral projection experience. We as humans tend to demonize things of which we know very little of.

Now there are those who use astral projection for evil intent. That does not mean that astral projection is evil. It just merely means that the person who is using it for negative intent is evil.

There are decent God fearing people who experience astral projection. Are they too dealing in Satanism? The sensible answer to that question is simply NO.

Astral projection is not the main reason why people become possessed. If that was true, many people would have been possessed. I say this because most people astral project spontaneously, no matter the religious background.

I remember one time when I was deeply into the Christian faith which believe that astral traveling is of a demonic nature, I spontaneously astral projected. I was scared to death! I asked my pastor to advise me on this because I did absolutely nothing of an occult or satanic nature to experience this. He had no answer.

In an end note, no, astral traveling is not the work of Satan nor is it evil.

I hope this clarifies a lot of misconceptions surrounding this innate ability of ours.

I am glad to be back on this site:)

Astral projection is not demonic, see OBE and NDE stories on internet! But satanists and black magicians/witch doctors/sorcerers, can achieve it with help from the demons, to go and harm other people! And rashidah, if you don't believe in satan and demons, I recommend a best selling autobiography, of a man from the Bronx, who was in the occult religion of Santeria since he was 10yrs old, for 25 years... He was the 3rd most powerful priest of satan in New York. People feared him because he had so many demons under his command... And payed him $10 000 to send a demon to kill a person! His awesome mind blowing testimony can be verified by his family, friends and people who payed him for his spells (that always worked). It's called: "OUT OF THE DEVIL'S COULDRON" by John Ramirez. At: John Ramirez.org. See also youtube video: "ex satanic priest carlos". And visit website: "real spiritual experiences"...all these stories about satan can't be fake, they have witnesses LOLOL! And remember, the most dangerous enemy, is the one that makes you think that he doesn't exist!...that's why satan hides, because he can't stand in the light and power of Jesus and his angels! Just like ISIS terrorists hide and keep moving, because they can't win if they fight head on with the army of Syria, Iraq and USA! Satan is a cowardly terrorist! But we should know, that: EVIL DESTROYS ITSELF! Because it fights against God, Jesus, who said: I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE! So we can choose, if we want to be destroyed by following satan the looser, or live happy forever by following Jesus... The choice is YOURS! Stay safe. God bless!+

Sorry NaturalScience - I'm not so good at sifting through things I've replied to here yet...

(sad smile) I really don't feel as if I am capable of being a teacher to anyone - not with the sheer amount I still need to learn.

The issue is it is the human condition to try to boundarize and define things. 4 must equal 4 no matter what. When we stopped worshipping rainstorms and starting doing alchemy and the like (as whimsical boundary mark as to when thought processes changed), humanity as a whole began finding patterns, and for the most part we are now trapped in the paradigm that therefore EVERYTHING must be in a pattern, and not only that, but in a pattern we can comprehend and predict.

People look for validation from their actions - stimulus, response. They look for acknowledgement, from something, some source. Validation that coincides with the laws of physics that we are born into here, I guess, is perhaps the most *important* thing we look for, in all of our lives, in everything we do.

I started writing a book, then erased it. It can be more easily encapsulated like this: when someone finds a formula that works for them, and works for a few other folks, they then believe that it functions like a universal law. They put their FAITH in it.

I spent 10 years working in cancer research, some of that work was done on cell-kill (to eradicate tumors). Sure, 90% of the cells will die. 90%, plus or minus a % or so, will die EVERY TIME, if I apply the same conditions.

But let's shrink it a bit.

What decides, among say 100 cells, which lives and which dies?

And what makes anyone think we are, in this shape and form, 'so large' that such "random" nature will not apply also to us, when you examine the true depth and scope of our universe?

One glance at Hubble deep space images shows thousands of galaxies, a snapshot of their 'lives' in some point in the past of which we only watch their 'echoes' from here on Earth.

And the whole point of putting "random" in quotes -- who are we to divine the true mind of the Divine, which holds SO much more than we can, in this form, now? How can we possibly expect to ever find the TRUE algorithm of the entire universe? 2+2=4 indeed. But so does 1+3, and 4+0...

I feel like I might be diving too deep into metaphor, which, I suspect, is the issue that any guru who may have been at one point, worth his salt so to speak, found themselves doing.

Eventually, they likely felt that a line needed to be drawn. The ethical value of that line... I can not judge. People come to them for help, or they as people want to help others, but do not want to fill a book or people's ears with this... Reaching, grasping language that borders on metaphors and parables, and then simply hope they will understand. They draw a compromising line. They have to. If they draw it somewhere too close to their personal wants, then these are people who one may not want to associate with. But if they draw it too far, then they detract from their own need, and though they wish to help, they end up only confusing people.

I've read lots of books Natural, over the last 15-20 years, myself. It gets to the point that you get bored with them, fast, because they all say the same things, just in slightly different language. But I think that, ultimately, that's the point. Though there may be something wrong with each book, in a collective, there is nothing wrong with all of the books. It's those 100 cells again. Some will be effected by the treatment, some won't. Some 'bits' of each book will 'die' -- and the surviving knowledge will hopefully light the spark of, well. Enlightenment? In the area in which you are searching.

The treatment that everything you absorb in your quest receives - and it IS a quest - comes from within you. In the end it is your personal search for the spiritual and the divine in all things, and no one else's - not the guru's, and certainly not the books. The 'guru' is a person with their own goals. The book is tree-mulch, and its words only have the power that each person assigns to them - nothing more, nothing less.

I'm sure all of this has just made it more confusing. But I'll tell you - I certainly don't think you are on a 'wrong' path in your quest. But sometimes the most correct ones end up being the loneliest.

And that's when we as mortal, living, breathing things, look for our Validation.

But that too, has to come from within YOU. Not anyone else. Not the leader of the rebirthing class who says 'You did it wrong'. If you felt rebirthed - YOU WERE REBIRTHED.

Just not in the way he/she intended you to be. Just not in THEIR image. But in your own, in the way YOU were meant to be.

(this reminds me of a piece of a powerful dream I had years ago. Won't go much into it save that the Narrative voice in the dream said, '... And the girls achieved womanhood - just not in the way that was expected of them.')

And though that seems to slip down that slippery slope of ego versus release -- remember we are all here for our own lessons. We can be categorized by physics and chemistry and biology and psychology and even spirituality -- but in the end, in this form, now, we each have our own unique Form.

And really. If you imagined the white light, as the class leader asked, and envisioned everything as they wished -- wouldn't you have just been, in a sense, chained to *their* Ego? Wouldn't that be almost worse than struggling with your own, to bow to someone else's?

We are the Divine, gazing into a mirror at itself.

Maybe making funny faces at times, or playing with makeup, but we are the Divine in the Mirror, and the Divine, and the Mirror.

I'd say I hope this helps, but I'm sure it is confusing as heck.

I imagined the wire red, well that was it.
Besides, Callie, you gave me better answers, to more than only one question dragged about within me for twenty or thirty years, than the people and books I asked for answers before.
To me things during spiri situations like Rebirthing, Zen or Yogic activities always seemed to be thus: you get directions and either you follow them exactly AND have the desired success and then you are OK, a good student; or you either have no success, or do not follow the directions but add or substitute to them your own ideas in order to have success, and both ways would make things invalid, and make you suspect at least - in worst case both will stamp upon you the Cain's sign of being a disobedient and ego-bound mind.
You perhaps will be able to explain spiri things to me and others in a way that frees us from this infantile pattern which surely many of us have, learned from dogmatic books or authoritarian gurus.

[at] NaturalScience - when I was referring to an actual VISUALISATION of the imagery that is normally just 'in the mind's eye', I was referring to how it appears during astral travel.

In a conscious meditative state, 9 times out of 10 there is no 'visual' input. In other words, the 'white light' won't be seen - yes, the black behind your eyes stays black. A lot of people will instead 'be aware' of the white light by sensing it, feeling it, being aware of its presence. But as for actually SEEING it, in my response I was referring to what is experienced during a full out of body / astral travelling period. (And even then, for some people some elements may be missing. There's no doubt I have a 'silver cord' somewhere, as I can deal with the pullback sensations if I'm too close to my physical body, etc, that comes from the Cord, but I have never been able to see it.)

A lot of disciplines focus strongly on the importance of particular colors because of, like I had mentioned, their archetypical significance. However, on top of something having an archetypical meaning, it is also going to have a personal one to each person engaging in the exersize.

Why this personal meaning isn't taken into account every time, well that's a simple answer - it's easier not to, and for several reasons.

1) This way you can guide the group of people you are using this method with without having to spend too much individual attention or be forced to cater your technique to each person.

2) It solidifies the power of using that particular method by making it rote and ingraining it into the collective unconcious by keeping it constant.

3) By remaining constant, it is a far more helpful technique for the beginners to be able to grasp.

As you go on in learning and growing, as you have experienced yourself, you will find that at times some things do not seem to 'match'. The white light, to you, did not seem appropriate to the situation. Therefore you draw from your personal experience and feeling, pick that which corresponds to the archetypical one that they're trying to convey, and use your version. It does not invalidate the exersize, as this was the appropriate hue for YOU, and YOU were the one doing the exersize. It's not like you envisioned snakes and razorblades and dragons, or tried to dream up lottery numbers. That would be more like an invalidation.;)

Also as an aside I see nothing 'impure' about red in a rebirthing exersize. I suspect you were linking with your humanity in that idea. The only 'bright white' we're born into these days is the occasional glaring lights of a birthing room. In truth, we're born covered in red gooky stuff and screaming. 😉

But again, the lack of being able to SEE anything behind closed eyelids is not a deficiency. Some people see nada, some people SEE it, some people get a sense of silouhettes or shadows (all 'visual input'). Then others envision it 'mind's eye' (think of the daydreaming imagination, where you're seeing things but not SEEING them), or get a physical sensation (tingling, numbing, warmth), some people can 'almost hear' things. Usually everyone had a varying combination of some of these at differing points.

The question I'd pose with a smile is this: if you didn't see it, how did you know the wire was red? Likely through one of the above 'visualizations';)

hey Callie, now ask you a question that lurked in my mind since 30 years:
If you "visualize" something do you have to REALLY SEE the respective item to have done things right?
For if I imagine something, some image, I never come to see something but it always remains very conscious to me that it is a mere imagination, and the blackness behind my closed eyes remains black.
Is this kind of reaction OK too, or is it a deficiency?

There also is a phenomenon which may occur frequently but I know it only from me.

When someone tells me imagine this or that kind of light, or color, or image, and I feel not comfortable with the image demanded,
I at once develop an alternative image and visualize this,
But I am literally unable to visualize the image demanded,
For I feel that surely that it is unfit for me here and now.

For example once during Rebirthing we were to imagine a wire of white light - I don't remember other details of the imagery demanded.
I felt uneasy about WHITE light, thinking "It is too pure, it stands too high for a person like me;
But I felt easy with RED light, this more mundane color was not above my level to my account;
Thus I just imagined a RED wire;
I thought at the same time, will the whole exercise be invalid because of me choosing another color of the wire?,
But I could not do anything else.

Good Morning folks.

I had an exhausting day yesterday. Plus when I came home lastnight I saw that an interesting page in where I was discussing an important topic was closed down. So I was extremely upset and thought that it was best to take a bath and go and sleep.

Callie thank you so much for your post. You have helped explained a lot. I hope the posters take your advice very well like I did.

Hey Talim welcome back ❤ ❤

There is more to shielding then the simple act of blocking. There's also reflecting, disguising, transmuting, etc. As Ananda points out there are great benefits to a shield having 'windows and doors' -- at times blocking everything can lead to its own issues.

'How to make it' - there are countless mental exersizes, many based around inner visualisation. I'm sure you've seen / heard things like 'surround yourself in a glow of (insert color here) ' often enough, sometimes with an added 'and think of (this function for the light). So: visualize a glowing white light around you that will protect you from all negative influence - that's pretty basic - but it doesn't explain WHY you do those sorts of things. So here's the way I look at them.

What all of this is doing (imho) is reaching into archetypical imagery and meanings for color, shape, objects, etc, and then programming it with a purpose or adding to it's current definition of purpose to suit our needs. Where ever you believe the archetypical imagery comes from (collective unconcious or simply your personal upbringing) is irrelevant. However, if I said, 'Imagine yourself cloaked in a sickly green cloud of disease' instead of white light or 'imagine yourself wrapped in the coils of a boa constrictor' instead of angel wings, it likely won't feel like much of a 'shield' or very safe at all as these things aren't 'archetypically safe' (or 'typically safe' either).

Calling on archetypical symbolism achieves the task of leaving the thinking plotting noisy clumsy mind (okay, namely mine 😊) mostly out of the work of keeping the shield's ultimate goal active, which works out better. Especially in OBE's where my *feeling* mind is usually always more in charge. At least for me, 'Rational thinking' in the sense of problem solving (how do I keep myself safe is a rational question) needs to almost be planned out in advance in an OBE, or it ends up happening in what feels like agonizingly LONG moments of standing in the Astral like someone who forgot where they left their car keys. In most practices in fact the work needs to be done through the spirit and flowing smoothly, as opposed to through the mind and following memorisation and rote, so the less time you spend 'thinking' about your shield, the better. You can be messy and stumble around on quite a few things, but your shield is one thing you want to stay up at least relatively consistently.

So the best way to do this is to use these 'defined symbols' (basically shared mental constructs from the collective unconcious) that already fit the goal you want to achieve so that you are not focusing on the symbol (white light, white light!) so much as their meaning, and therefore, your goal (safety, security). In moments when things feel like they're wobbling a little, the symbol is a touchstone metaphor to return to and 'just touch' (light drives away darkness) lightly with the thinking mind to refocus that intent.

The beauty of the astral/OBEs/etc is that these thought forms *take form* in these places. So when you get it good and right, you know you have it right because you can flat out see it there (the mind's eye now IS the eye). But just like when you finally achieve an OBE, try not to get TOO excited when you see your mental tools in action the first time. This usually leads to a short OBE... At least for me. 😆

In short: willpower - will power any construct you need in the Astral. Just need the Will.

Shielding an excellent question!

I'd love to hear what everyone's suggestions are too.

Austin, my shields aren't mental, they are based on emotions. For example "fear" can cause you not to be able to OBE. "love" can be a shield to protect you from outside negative energy. So can "truth/faith" which is trust in your own ideas or beliefs, that also sheilds people from others. Some people's shields are so strong others think its a wall and keep them ignorant, but I think of it as a sheild to protect them that has solidified that they can't see through it to the people who would help them. All shields should have windows and doors which you can open when meditating to view the world and reassess your own perceptions and beliefs.

My opinion what is everyone elses?

hey there's another topic that I would like to talk about, shielding. To make a long story short I suck at it, and I would like to learn a bit more about it. Basically all I know about it is that its a mental wall used to keep unwanted people from prying into your mind, but other than that I have no clue what to do to make a shield or how to maintain it.

Yes there are very wicked beings, which is why I suggest anyone wishing to progress in psychism do it with the aid of someone who knows how to shield and can spot and deal with an evil being without fail or trouble.

Well satan has been misconstrued "he" is just a sort of tyrant which you find all over the astral, hes just one of the best at what he does. Theres not a satan as is in the bible, merely the way someone interpreted it when they realized what he does. An erroneous generalization:)

Im sorry I forgot to mention this in the first post, but a lot of people mistake their aural energy being thin or decayed or corrupted. The connection of the physical and etheric is strong enough that if your energy body is damaged in some way, you can and usually do get some sort of physical sickness. If youre energy levels were too low youd become depressed and increasingly unable to control your bodily functions, as you do need a healthy energy body to function well physically.

Astral projection is the act of projecting your mental being onto the spiritual plane. No it is not evil, nor is it the way anyone gets possessed, possessions happen in the etheric, with the exception of those whose souls are so corrupted, which literally takes years upon years to do. Now satan is real, and he is a spiritual being who is adept at reading our weaknesses, and placing thought in our mind which guide us into hands. Hes not some awesomely powerful demon, as demons are beings who feed on and intensify negative emotions, to a more severe extent than your average shadow being.

I couldn't detail it because it was dark but I knew it was a women because of its shape. Since it was in front of the windows on the other side of the room, I could definitly see that it had long hair. I just felt scared and somewhat normal, since I thought it was my mom. I was very tired when I saw it so I'm not so sure if I was dreaming but when I remember I see myself on my ipod so I wasn't dreaming.

Sure, I'll give more:

One night, I was on my Ipod playing around. I felt sleepy but I didn't want to sleep. My bed was on one side of the room and my parent's on the other. (I live in a apt. Building) I was afraid that my parents might catch me so I was very suspicious of any sounds. I heard something like someone getting out of bed, so I quickly put my Ipod on sleep mode. I had my arm on the back of my head to comfort it so I thinking " Oh sh*t!" (sorry for bad language) I couldn't put it back since there was a human-like figure at the side of my bed- the side I was facing. Of course I thought it was my mom, but I squinted my eyes. The figure didn't move, I didn't move either and when it finally moved, It went to the hallway next to my bed into my living room. I then, slowly, sat up and looked to my parents' bed, and both of them were sleeping there.

I felt tired most of the time ever since (this happened around the beginning of january 2011) I felt tired during for about 2 weeks, sometimes so tired, I feel I just want to fall and close my eyes. Now it's a bit gone. I just feel tired every morning. I considered it being stress and the cold of the snow storms, but I not so sure.

I think this doesn't go with this topic but when I read parasitic beings, I just thought I would just say this. Thanks.

I could help out there:P

Astral projection is not that difficult, just like anything related to the psychic world, it takes a lot of focus and practice.

Basically, start off by telling yourself why you want to be able to do this. Answering selflessly and positively will obviously provide at least your subconscious with a motive to develop this.

As for the actual AP well...

First, enter a state of meditation. Close your eyes and concentrate. Empty your mind etc.

When you've done that, picture yourself rising from your body, separating spirit and body.

Picture the room you're in from above, then continue to rise and look at your house, suburb, state, country - whatever! In this case, not even the sky is the limit.

When you have separated, temporarily of course, your ethereal and physical beings, feel free to just enjoy it.

Usually there will be a purpose for doing this.

I might make it sound easy but trust me, it's not. You might not get it the first time, or second time, or third time or even the hundredth time, but focus, positivity and effort will produce the results you want.

Make sure to use your abilities for good, this one especially can be used to help others a great distance away. Empaths doing this can help people in psychiatric wards with their feelings and clairvoyants can communicate with people in their dreams.

Try it out, follow the pull that you feel when you fly ALWAYS let somebody know what you're doing though, in case you find it difficult to return.

(various exercises can be performed to do so)

Hope this helped and good luck!

Cinnamonwarlock 😊
