I've recently noticed that I always become entranced by water. Sometimes I'll be washing dishes and before I know it, I'm in a trance. I don't even have to be touching the water, sometimes I stare at it and just as easily go into a trance.
I'm not sure if it's connected, but I've had two instances when I've almost drowned. The first time I was about 8 years old. I was at a local water park and went down a slide that dropped off into 12 feet of water. I guess it took me a while to surface because the next thing I remember after going down the slide was being on the side of the pool with a lifeguard hovering over me. I went down that slide plenty of times before that incident and had no problems. I blacked out the entire time I was in the water so I'm not sure if something happened while I was under, but I get the feeling that something did happen.
The second time I almost drowned I was river rafting and fell out of the raft. I remember being under the water and looking up at the light on the surface. My panic immediately went away and a sense of calm came over me. I felt like I could breathe under water and I remember thinking that it wasn't normal. After that I blacked out and somehow made it back to the raft. I don't remember anything that happened until the ride home.
Sometimes I manage to keep my eyes open, but other times I go into a deeper trance where my entire body will go limp and it takes me a while to get out of it. It's happening more and more often now and not only when water is involved, but it happens most when there's water. I'm not sure why this is happening, but I feel like there's something important going on here.
Does this happen to anyone else? What's the significance of water and why is it so entrancing? I go into trances so often and easily now that it makes me question why. How do I find out why I'm going into these trances all the time?
