Why Do I See Colors Around People's Heads?

Okay, so I'm only 13, but completely sane!:D

I have heard of these things called auras. And I wonder if these are what I am seeing. I have always had the ability to look at someone or something for a period of time and look away, and if I close my eyes after doing that, I see a colored outline of the object. I find it easiest to do this with human heads-lol! Normally I see the colors green or yellowish orange. I desperately want to know if anyone else has similar experiences. And tell me-is this normal for a 13 year old girl? Ooh & also sometimes there is a strong connection between those weird colors and the person's mood. Is that what the colors are-moods?! Haha this is all so confusing! But bear with me! My science teacher claims to be able to "read" people's auras and I just don't understand how she can read them if they are colors, not words! Should I actually be seeing words? Also I just was wondering, if I can do this, does that mean my family can too? Is it like genetic or something or maybe is it just a unique gift I was blessed with! Am I gifted or cursed to have this skill? I would really appreciate it if you guys/girls could help me understand what is happening to me! Lol thanks so much & I think it would be really cool if you could include a personal experience so I could relate to your story as well! So I just really want you to explain to me what I am capable of and if this is normal for a 13 year old girl-or not! (Please tell me it is). Thank you all very much! Love, me

Instead of "drak" which I said below...

I meant to say "dark"

I have a dark aura... I don't know what it means to be dark though!

Fizzlepopbang: Thanks so much for your comment! Lol I have to admit I felt pretty dumb when I thought I was supposed to see words instead of colors on an aura!:) Wow, when I was little I could only see the "color blind aura sight" thing you were talking about-but I gradually began to see colors! I have been told I have a dark aura, so it could be indigo-I really don't know! I feel silly to not even know my own aura!:P I will go look in a mirror and report back what I think my aura lOoks like today.:)

Explosion123: Yes, seeing auras is a very unique gift! In fact, this may sound crazy, but I taught myself how to view them when I was little! I would stare at an object like a person standing against a white wall & blink. Then, I would see a colored outline of the person! I did not realize it was an aura until now!:) You should try it...:D

You can read Auras, I have heard about it and have tried to teach myself to do so but it is very difficult, I can only read mine. Aura Reading is a pure talent, don't deny it. My Aura is Indigo 😁

Hello!
Okay your lucky to be able to see auras without really trying. Developing your ability takes time and practice. I taught myself to see auras; to do this I put my hand onto white paper and I make my vision go 'out of focus' until I see the colour.

My colour is normally blue, with purple or sometimes yellow. It's even been white and orange. Your aura does reflect your mood; such as I read someones when it was black, at that time they were like, depressed...

I'd saying reading auras is a good thing, everyone can do it if they actually try. Reading auras allows you to understand peoples mental health and physical too! And you can avoid people who are more 'energy drainers'. You can almost judge people on their personalities, red can be anger, yellow is normally happy and playful etc...

Don't be afraid and instead embrace it, look at auras on people, plants, food and even animals, everything you encounter. Research the colours and their meanings and become knowledgeable upon it. Trust me it'll be beneficial.

Oh, 'reading' auras refer to just looking at the colour, so basically what you've already done; it's just a term. 😁

Hope I helped.

Peppermint,

AmbrociousXP has given some good information and provided a good link.

I have a Native American Friend who I was stationed with while I was in the Navy... He could see Auras and he once told me that mine had every color in it...I'm not sure what that means... But that is what he 'saw' when he 'looked' at mine.

As far as what fizzlepopbang has said about being an Indigo... Please follow this link before jumping on the, "We are special beings sent to this earth for a reason like no other." bandwagon, as that is not how or what the term orignally meant. I provide a link to a web site to back this up... Please read for yourself and make up your own mind.

I will copy this from the site...

"...just in case you heard otherwise from other "indigo" sources, the designated word "Indigo" has nothing to do with the color of an aura! It is the result of scientific observations by a woman who has the brain disorder called synesthesia." More about her and her book, as well as other books can be found on this site...

Please read the 'WIKIPEDIA WARNING!' given by the authors on the site as it helps explain somethings as well.

Respectfully,

Rook

Hey Peppermint!
What your going through is exactly as you think, they are auras and you should feel very honered to have this. Not many people can do this. No, you shouldn't be seeing words around people's head, lol, what your teacher means is that he/she can read their emotions and by reading their colours, you can often tell what they are thinking. Hm... I am wondering if you are like me. I am Indigo. Which means I have a blue or indigo aura most of the time. We are special beings sent to this earth for a reason like no other. You should research this. Some indigos can see other peoples aura... I actually have what you call 'colour blind aura sight' which means I can only see the auras as a kind of 'whitish/yellowish' colour. You are lucky to be able to see clolurs. Learn about the colours and the emotions they betray. Also, I'm 14, so I know what you're going through. So... Good luck! 😊

Magadons: Hi friend! Don't be scared-I have been reassured by many people that this is NOTHING to be alarmed about! You just have the unique ability to see people's auras. An aura is the energy field that surrounds a person! Usully it is a certain color. Dont be frightened!:) ❤

Try doing this in a darkend room. Sometimes you will see a residual outline image of something if you've been staring at an object in a bright room. That is nOrmal for everyone. If you are seeing auras you should be able to see them without closing your eyes in a darkend room, at least that's the way I see them. Also you should be able to feel them by placing your hand about 1 inch (2.54 cm) above the persons body.

If you can actually see auras this can greatly help you in perceiving someone's intent. I've noticed when I'm being lied to the persons aura is a muddy yellow color.

Good luck with this and remember its a gift even when it seems like a curse.

I have been told by someone who was basically a stranger that I have a dark color for my aura. I assumed that the guy was trying to sell himself to my sister as a psychic of some sort so he could get her interested in him. While he was telling my sister (goth at the time) that she has a pink aura, I approached him and sarcastically asked him to read my aura. He looked irritated but looked at me (well, he looked around my shoulders) and he said "You have a dark aura, almost black." I didn't like that so I called him an idiot and walked off.

That was about 10 years ago. Looking back on what he said and the place I was in in my life... Him seeing the dark side of me sounds very appropriate. That very year (before I met him) I started to see the dead when I closed my eyes, feel demonic presences (witness apparitions of them), had the dead contact me (waking me from sleep), had a conversation with my spiritual eye with a angel or angelic figure, was awaken with people screaming my name when they were nowhere around, feel peoples energies (I could feel if someone was going to cause grief, harm, joy, humor, etc), hear the dead (?) whisper what sounded like 1000 voices in my mind, and overall feel like a complete outsider. This lasted from 12 years old to 17 years old. I'm a healthy guy and no one in my family has had a history of anything like this except my sister. I consider us followed. I would be glad to just be able to see auras lol.

I just wanted to give you a general picture of myself. Growing up being able to do things no one else can do and witness things no one else will witness is difficult. I know most people will tell you to explore your gifts, and maybe you should, but when my "gifts" first started up I tried to expand them by meditation, hypnotism, positioning myself around people who I felt something was "off" with. It all kind of turned into a nightmare that I couldn't get away from. Everything got stronger, darker, heavier on my mind. I felt possessed sometimes. There were actually some times when I felt another force take control of my hands and mind. I have written lists of names of people that I've never heard of in other countries in political positions. I was told about the end of the world happening soon and that they would cause it. I felt like I needed to be locked away because I must be insane.

I wasn't of course but at 14 I didn't know that. I guess what I'm saying is that when you realize your gift and you use it often and try to stretch it, it will stretch farther and faster than you know. Be cautious with what you can do and see because once you start being able to see spirits, they can see you too. That's why I say that my sister and I are followed. Everywhere we go we witness supernatural things and so do the people around us. It might sound like fun but trust me when I say that it can take you to some places you do NOT want to be.

Just be careful and remember that once you see into the spiritual realm there's no going back.

Well I think it would be best that you helped me so I'll help you. Auras are colors that describe a persons mood and/or behavior. Certain colors have certain meanings, but you can look more into that. I have had a similar experience. I was just lying down listening to music and a deep blue outline was around my hand. It was amazing to see but short lived. I haven't been able to see any aura since. After how many stories I've read, it seems like it would be normal for someone your age. I have never heard of a science teacher being a believer in this kind of stuff.

(Guess it has to do with me never having one believe in the paranormal.)
