It was April 1st, 2002. I had called my friend that morning as I usually did. In the middle, of our conversation, I realized it was April fools day. I decided to play a joke on her (which was crass I do admit). I told her our other friend had just called me, and said her car had been rear ended and pushed 20 feet up the road, and smashed to half the size as it was parked on the street outside of the house where she was babysitting. My friend on the phone said "Yeah right, nice try." I laughed it off, and said yes, I know, I had to think of something quick and let it go.
1 hour later, I was on the phone with my friend who was in fact babysitting (which I knew she was beforehand). As we were on the phone, I heard a shrill sound, followed by a crash. She said "Oh my GOD! My @$@#! Car!" My heart dropped as I hung up, and said I would be right there. I pulled up to the scene, seeing a man standing outside of his smashed truck with his hands on his head in bewilderment. Her car was 20 feet up the road, smashed into half it's size, exactly how I had described an hour earlier. Her car was parked on the side of the street like all of the others, nothing out of the ordinary. They called it a freak accident, but I was thinking something different. My friend didn't know whether to be angry at me, or in awe.
I have since had other experiences, small and not in comparison, but enough to make me go...hmm. I once got in an argument with my husband, and as he went into the garage, I said to myself "Don't you even think of coming back into this ******* house." 5 minute later, the door knob would not turn. I couldn't open from the inside, and he definitely could not get in. He had to replace the entire door knob and locks that night. Sorry for the long winded version, but if anyone has had similar experiences, I would love to hear them!
