Clairsentience and Remote Touch

I'm just wondering if there's a more specific word to describe an experience. I don't know if it's just a very vivid imagination, or what! I have very vivid sensations of being touched by someone very close to me, who lives a few thousand miles away from me, and who thinks of me often (long distance relationship). I don't know if I'm very sensitive and picking up his daydreams, or if he's strongly projecting them, if it's both of us, or if it's just my imagination running away with me.

I'm a synesthete with very strong physical senses (I *see* music - it's a neurological phenomenon strong in my family), and I'm open to the possibility that there is something more ethereal in nature to these experiences that I have. I can honestly feel another person's body heat, and pick up their scent, and it's extremely life - like to me. It's caught me completely off guard at moments, when I'm working on something and my mind's totally engrossed in it (i.e., I'm not daydreaming or concentrating on this person).

Am I just going through wishful thinking, or could there be something to this? And if there is, what is the correct word for it? I'd love to develop it further... It certainly makes the distance much shorter. :)

Your probably right.

Earlier today, after my mum stripped the paper from my walls, I noticed there was even older wallpaper underneath - probably from the previous owners and when I touched it, I had a flash - there was a book open at a page with a cartoon picture of a tree and I think a little girl was looking at it.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Topher,
Experiencing past, present or future information, or indeed experiencing spirit through inanimate objects of any kind, is the art of psychometry.

The other bits, I'd tend to lean more towards empathic abilities than clairsentience... Clairsentience is sensing spirit, IE; being able to describe what a soul, who may be stood next to you, looks like, merely by feeling, their size, age, stature etc... Not actually seeing the manifestation, which would then b clairvoyance (clear seeing) or hearing the spirit, (which would then be clair audience/ clear hearing) etc, etc...

Topher;

This is clairvoyance. This ability can be confusing, but is very helpful. Don't worry and tell your friend to not be afraid. Visit the chat room for more info. [found in the left side of this page, near bottom, under "other pages for psychics and mediums"]

Hello. Can some one help me with something please?

I'll start at the beginning.

My friend told me that he would sometimes get this tingle down his back, then his eyes would clamp shut and he would get these obscure images in his head (usually about an object, a person or a place) which only last for a couple of seconds. He put this down to an over-active imagination. However this has started happening when he touches things (desks, photo albums, even the toilet!). He is beginning to think he is mad, as he thinks he is imagining it all. Lately however the frequency of these visions is increasing and so is their clarity. One time he touched his sister's badminton competition form and saw a girl playing the sport and kicking butt at it. He wasn't sure if it was his sister or not. Also, he touched his niece's photo album and saw her standing next to a large water fountain (the photos showed his niece in Spain). This is not only freaking him out but I'm becoming disturbed also.

From time to time he also gets things about the future correct too. For instance he would be talking to someone and for no apparent reason would know something about the future. For example, he knew his best friend would get together with his sister and it happened a year later - despite the fact that neither of them showed any interest in the other.

He has also become really sensitive - which I just thought was depression - but he can't stand being around others as he would get extremely depressed really fast and easily. He also gets easily stressed in crowds of people.

I researched this and I believe it is clairsentience. What do you others think?

Whenever I see the number three I usually think of a deep red or almost pinkish color, and 2 is blue, 1 yellow, and 8 is orange, and I don't know if this is just me, but sometimes when you put numbers together you get a mixture of colors, and to me five is purple, sometimes they even seem to have 'meaning' behind them, like almost emotions... If that sounds nuts, but this doesn't occur all the time for me. Like 23 is a well balanced number and that's why people like it because it says I am secure and at home.

E - read again. What is synesthesia? I don't get the the colors for letters thing and am curious. The music part I can understand. It's about the time signature and how long you hold a note so it has a number. People with good number skills always score high in music potential abilities too. It's about numbers. I can understand your story though, the touch thing and especially scent.

E, I'm always around, whether checking out the comments and removing the abusive or off topic ones, publishing the stories and other articles. I don't always have something to say in the comments though, and I'm not necessarily a psychic expert (the articles are written by a friend of mine), so people shouldn't be looking up to me for answers, they should be discussing between themselves, that is the purpose of this community site.

Glenda and hollinor, thank you for your responses.

Martin, I agree with Glenda that it is very nice to know there's a human element on the internet like this.

E - I just read back. I always read back later. It was a little funny. My hub went to the emergency rm in CA. The doc asked him his problem and he told him that his wife is SC told him to go there. He has four prescriptions. I won't apologize. He leaves for Spain Sunday and this is Friday. I've NEVER asked him to do this. He feels better though. Martin - don't apologize. You give us freedom and do your best. It's nice to hear from you though. I like thinking that it isn't a robot reading my stuff. So knowing you are human is nice. Thanks. E - I'm a music person. My vision now, near fifty isn't great, but the scent thing is good. Too good maybe. I will try to answer your question. No, you wish it is wishful. No, your life will be still hard and teach you. No, it happens to others. Yes, you are special. Very. Take that as you will and pass it along.

E - terms throw me. I like to keep it close to me, if that makes sense. Terms aren't bad; they help us put things in boxes. I just don't like boxes. But they are helpful I think. It's just not me. I do feel other people's touch, long or short. I don't think distance matters unless we let it. Just my opinion. TY for writing - it is making me think.

Oh no, I have experienced that too... Quite often in fact. I almost dropped my baby once because I felt his father, who lived 4000 miles away, pass through my body. I don't know why, or how that happened, but it was very freaky. I always know when I'm on someone's mind because it comes on very strong out of the blue. And I'm also embarrased to say it, but I can pick up on my kid's father's sexual energy towards me. I'm minding my business cleaning out the toilet or helping the kids with their homework, and then, BAM! I can see it happening in my mind. Either a prior experience we had together, or something completely new. And I wasn't even thinking about that! When I call and ask my kid's dad, "Thinking about me today?" I get a sheepish, "How did you know?!"

I indeed rock 😉 Sorry your original title was a bit of a mess and I tried to capture the essence of your story but I guess I missed the mark. Your post about it helped me figure it out.

Hello... The title of this doesn't really reflect my question. What I'm asking about is definitely NOT synesthesia, which is a neurological "mix up" of the senses (most synesthetes have specific colors for letters or numbers, for example - the number 1 is always yellow). Nothing metaphysical about it. :)

Just wanted to clarify that.
