Two and a half years ago, I was living in New Zealand studying there.
One night in my apartment, I was sleeping
And I woke up, something had grabbed my leg and dragged me halfway down the bed.
I awoke to see some sort of black orb above me and felt something pressing down on my chest and I could not move and was terrified.
I don't quite remember what happened after this, but the entity eventually went away and stopped antagonizing me, and I fell back asleep after being scared out of my mind.
The next morning, a friend who lived in the same apartment complex as me, told me about how something attacked him in his sleep.
We had experienced very similar sensations in the same night.
After that night I had terrible times sleeping whenever I was in my room, and was always uncomfortable in that place. I was terrified and every night I felt like as if the spirit was there just waiting to attack again, but I also felt like I was a little delusional, as I have always been skeptical of such things, but an unexplained phenomenon is still unexplained, so I have also been open to all explanations.
The neighborhood we lived in, was full of historical buildings from New Zealand's earliest history.
But was also an area full of modern development and suburban sprawl.
Across the street from my apartments was an old cemetery.
It was abandoned, wedged between a park, a kindergarten and the back area of the university I attended.
I started visiting that cemetery quite often, I found out that the last body buried there was in 2000.
And most of the graves were broken or covered in moss and overgrown.
This tiny cemetery in the middle of what was a peaceful suburban neighborhood in North Auckland.
I never saw anybody visit that cemetery, I would try to get people from the area to go with me to it, but nobody ever would, they were all too scared.
When I would visit and pay my respects, I felt as if after that the bad feelings of being in my room weren't there and I was able to sleep better. It seems that the spirits had been escaping that cemetery and attacking and haunting the residents who lived nearby.
It is just a lesson, respect the dead, respect the history of the places you are in.
The town was originally called Albany. It had all but been eaten up by the growth of Auckland and suburban sprawl was and still is slowly eliminating the history of that little town, but at what cost?
I have a friend whom is from a different Viking country and she sent me a picture of a grave yard.
When I blew the size into a large picture.
I saw actual a women a warrior, some people whom looked like indians forming a line like a hedge,
And strangely a man whom looked as if he died
At his work desk possibly 1970's to 1980's.
There was a ray of the Sun that shone and it seemed
As if some road the wave to the grave yard.
As with spirits as described in you story.
Some grave yards have spirit energy that can attach
To humans as they did to their living host.
And it is possibly for a discarnate soul to attach
To us (the living).
If we are strong and resist them they can just go on their way. They only attach inorder to live vicariously through a human. When this is not possibe
They move on.
