Before I start, I want to know if anyone reading this is mesmerized by anything? Johanne (my Mother) is mesmerized by fire. I know a few people who share the trait. Some are in love with water, trees, things that revolve around nature. For me, anything natural, just takes my entire attention away. Completely. No questions asked.
But there's one that sticks out in the list. I could look at it forever and never get bored; The moon.
I've come to the conclusion that it's not just because I've always been able to see the moon, I feel like it runs a lot deeper then that, like it's special. Every time I see it, I just stand there, looking at it. I really can't figure out why.
It's even made me do stupid things (I mean the obsession, not the moon itself), so I can be closer to it. Once I stood outside in the middle of winter, when it was -27 degrees out. Another time I slid my screen away from my window and sat in my window, which is actually fairly dangerous because I was two stories up. I've done a lot more, but you get the idea.
That's not the only strange thing that happens. I always get a rush at night, and the moon just adds to it.
I've read a lot of things about the moon, like different goddesses are supposed to be in relation to the moon; Artemis, Cerridwen, Diana, Selene, I'm sure there's more then that, though. I've read about different theories about where the moon is from, and a lot more.
But nothing has been able to answer my question.
Is there something special about the moon?
