The Bouncing Baby

Once when my daughter was an infant, not yet a toddler, I took her with me on a run to a distribution warehouse to make a quick purchase for my employer. By the time we reached the warehouse, she was asleep in her baby seat in the front seat of the car (it was allowed in those days). The warehouse had a garage style opening so you could see the vehicle clearly if you stood at the register. I quickly found my items and stood in the customer line. I was second in line from the cashier when I looked at my car and saw my daughter fall out of the window. I dropped my merchandise and yelled and ran for her. Upon reaching the car, I discovered that she was still asleep in her car seat, I had hallucinated. When the cashier and customers asked what happened, I said I thought my baby fell out of the car window. They remarked that they wondered why I yelled and ran like that. As we were talking (a matter of less than 5 minutes) I looked up and saw my daughter tumble out of the car window...again. At which point she began to scream... This time it was real. Thank God she was not injured, but the entire line of customers became quiet and clearly disturbed at what they witnessed. I paid for my goods and exited quickly and without further discussion.
