So we just moved into our new home, which was built on what used to be an orange grove. After 6-8 months of being in our new home, my light in my room would turn on and off. My husband summed it up as a wiring problem or the batteries being dead in our remote. After the occurrence, I started to remove the batteries before bed. It seemed to work but then it would come on during the day (it never did this while my husband was home and it did it once when a friend was over, the light came on and off like 10 times). After about a month of this happening, it came on at 3 am & did it about two more times after that while my husband was home. Finally I made my husband take out the remote so it would stop all together and it did.
About two months later, I found myself waking up at 2:30 am for about a month straight. I couldn't shake the feeling something was roaming around our house (and what was weird is that would be the exact time my dogs would bark) so I had to flip all the lights in the kitchen on to put my mind at ease and during the day when I would walk past the mirror in our hall I would find myself doing a double take because I would think I saw something behind me. I started sleeping better but...
I think whatever this is seems to be bothering my son? About two months ago my son claimed to see a "black moving thing" as he called it, no arms, no legs, and no face. I thought shadow, with the lights in the hall and them running up and down, it had to be.
One night, about a month ago before bed, they (both my sons 3.5 & 5) were watching TV in our front room, I told them to turn everything off and brush their teeth. They ran in the family room saying they saw it. My mom and I told them if they saw it to tell it to GO away & leave us alone! Since then, my youngest hasn't seen it but will talk about it and now my 5 year old tells me that it smacks his bottom and head in his sleep and makes him wake at 4am every time (this has been going on for 3 days). I know it's not a shadow because his room has one nightlight so everything is illuminated and nothing moves, so it can't be the shadow of something.
I'm not sure what to do or tell him? Suggestions anyone? My mom suggested I let our small dog sleep with him that he would know if something's not right.
