A couple months ago I was reading about meditation, and astral projection. I've been meditating on and off again since I was about 14 or 15. In the past year I've been meditating on a regular basis, and with great success I'm able to dwell into the delta brain wave state. I don't know why but getting to delta without falling asleep seems to have come naturally to me. Until I started reading about the different brain wave states I thought it was normal or that everyone that meditates did it. I tell you what though, once you get to delta... you know it. It is so much deeper and different then theta, all I can say is that it is a great experience. The only advice I give to reach this state of mind is to concentrate on one single thing, and to "kick out" any thoughts or dreams that drift in. Personally I concentrate on the ringing sound, or sometimes one the third eye. It can take a few minutes while in theta to get to delta, but you'll get it.
When I'm in delta I do sometimes slip into dreams but I'm always able to catch my self within seconds, and I just keep concentrating.
Although I've never been able to astral project yet. I have no fears of "the other side", I've read A LOT of info on the subject and I'm familiar with the fears and such that you have to overcome. I've gotten close twice, but never detached. Basically I could feel this energy pulsing through my body. I think the reason I haven't left the body is because I got too excited and my heart rate and breathing jumped. I've read recently that you need to control this, so maybe next time I get to the vibration state I can keep this under control... has anyone else had this problem and overcame it?
