I was younger at the time, about the age of six. It was a weekend and I went to bed just like any other night.
I had this dream that I was swimming in a pool at my grandmother's house. I could hear laughter and talking but I couldn't make out and words. I could see the sky blue coloring of the pool. I could feel the cool water against my body as I splashed around. It all felt too real, like I was actually there. While I was swimming I had the urge to swim to the bottom of the pool. As I worked my way down, I spotted colored blurs and reached out for them. I got them, but when I did, everything faded to black and I couldn't breathe! I struggled and kicked but the darkness continued to block my vision and I could feel my lugs starting to slack from the lack of air. All of a sudden, a sense of peace arose over me, like I was floating in mid air, like nothing existed but me. Then with a flash of bright light, I woke up, sweaty, gasping for air. I started to cry for I've never felt anything like it in my entire life but I quickly got over it.
The next day my family and I went to my grandmother's house. It was a nice day at the time and we decided to go swimming. I didn't realize it at first, but what happened in my dream was happening to me in real life. I was swimming, saw the colored rings, went after them, but instead of me not being able to breath, I was inhaling water, and then I passed out.
Then next thing I knew was my mom, sitting next to me and crying, petting my head. She told me I almost drowned and my dad dove in and pulled me out just in time.
