I thought I would post this exercise as an aid for those of you out there who are struggling to understand the gifts you are discovering. When it all gets a little too confusing and you can recognize your talents and abilities but need to know how or why, then perhaps this may help.
It is a very constructive meditation which can enable you to meet and then acquaint yourselves with any number of spirit guides which may be working for/with you, remember that your guides often change (however you may have one or several which are permanent fixtures) so it is recommended to repeat the same meditation at intervals to see which course your guides are steering you.
If you have meditated before, then you know to take yourself off into a quiet room, turn off your phones and sit quietly concentrating on your breathing for a while, relax physically all your muscles beginning from the feet, all the way up to your shoulders, dispel any thoughts of home life, worries, concerns - place them in a " to do " file - and deal with them later. This works equally well as a led meditation, but is simple enough to memorize and use alone.
Picture yourself in your safe place, (this should be somewhere that you are very familiar with and somewhere which you feel you know so well that is perfectly untouchable, this should also be the same place from which you begin this meditation the next time, pay attention first time round though, as things may change the next.) from here stand up and take steps towards what appears to be a bridge, as you draw closer you realize it is a bridge, slowly observe the structure, size, shape of this bridge and the material from which it is made and the color. It also crosses a stream. Over the bridge you go and as you step down on the other side you notice that there is only one path and it is leading to the right. It is a shingle path, but on either side is a grass verge, you can choose to stay on the gravelly path or step up onto the grassy banks to walk, it's up to you.
On your right is a rushing, bubbling mountain stream and to your left are tall trees and woodland. Wildlife and birds make themselves known from within the woodland, what do you see?
On along the path until eventually it ends, before you stands a wall. A large granite block wall stands in front of you and upon investigation, there appears no way through. Walk around the wall to the left and you eventually come to a large gate built into it, make a mental note as to whether the gate is open, shut, locked, ajar. And when you can push it open enter.
As you step through the gate you enter into a garden, this is YOUR garden, be still for a moment and merely observe what you can see, notice the flowers, the layout, the fragrance, on your right is a path which leads to the foot of the garden and half way down the path is a bench, at some point during your exploration you may sit on the bench for a rest, but when that is is entirely your choice too. Now, off you go and explore your garden, make sure you rest on the bench - or somewhere- in your garden, and if you meet anybody there be sure and ask them who they are and what they're doing.
You can stay in your garden exploring for about ten minutes, you will now when it's time to leave.
To return from this meditation be sure to say thank you and goodbye to whomever you have met, retrace your steps through the garden gate and back along the path to the bridge, cross it and once back at your safe place, wrap yourself in your cloak of security, with gold on the inside and blue on the outside, pull it tight round your neck and your waist and slowly come back to where you are.
I find it handy to keep a notebook on the table whilst I meditate, and write (or draw) what I've seen and heard. Although sometimes it's difficult to drag yourself away from the garden, 30 minutes at this meditation is more than enough, you may need to go a few times, until you are familiar with it before anyone appears to you, however you may meet scores on your first trip! Good luck and enjoy.
Also, academylin: I'm new to meditation so if you've posted that technique that you mentioned to Kitty, I'll check it out... But in this post, you said to slowly come back to where you are. How do you mean slowly? Like are you talking about 'deep' meditation in this post or what?
Thanks. π
