The Seagull Symbol

My name is Katie and I'm 17 years old. I wanted to share my experience with you all. I would like to know what you think of this. I wrote a story about a boy who was a ghost. Who showed up in my bathroom one day after I got my GCSE results. I said he was wearing blue and had a white seagull picture on his pants. He had brown hair and was a teenager.

Just about 2 weeks ago I ordered a jacket which was a bit of money. It was pink and had Paul Boutique on it. The only badge it should of had on was a diamond.

When it finally came, I opened it up. I was really disappointed because it had other picture badges I didn't want on it. It had a white seagull on it, snake, I think it also had a dollar sign on it not sure and it said rock on it as well.

I looked at the seagull picture badge and it reminded me of something. It hit me it was the exact seagull I saw on that teenage boy ghost. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I was saying to myself is this a joke is someone playing a joke on me. I started to freak out!

I was just wondering does anyone know what a white seagull symbol means with a blue background. I really need to know it must be a sign of something. Has anyone seen a seagull symbol before?

Thanks for reading

Katie x

Have a nice day!

HI KATIE,
I HOPE YOU GET THIS MESSAGE. I am very interested in the teenage 'ghost' boy story you wrote about. I have a feeling, but may be wrong, that this boy may be the same boy that I am getting messages from? (one in the bathroom) thoughts in my mind, song lyrics etc. This is a recent occurance of a few months ago. I thought it was coincidence, In particular, the seagull symbol has come up for me repeatedly & the colour blue is of significance & so is the number 7-8 (number of ghosts you saw from your comment).
Looking forward to your reply.
Nel.

PS We should also read The Seagull a paly by Anton Chekhov. I'm sure wisdom/truth will be revealed there too... There will be hidden meanings in all of the writings involving the seagull, which will lead you to understanding. Maybe there are lots of us at the moment who are seeing visions of seagulls? I don't know... Maybe we are a certain type of person to whom the seagull has resonance and we can find out more by reading those books. I hope my blog will help too.

Hi Katie - that is fascinating. I'm not sure exactly when that experience happened to you, but I had a vision of a Seagull early in the new year - Jan 2nd (I felt this was a guardian angel that was allowing me to releases my creative spirit). I was inspired after that to start a blog, which is at http://theseagullspeaks.blogspot.com/ I hope the words there will guide you/help you in some way - somehow I am sure that they will. You will see that the image there is of a white seagull on a blue background (I nicked it from Wikipedia, but it is creative comments licensed). I was also inspired to read again "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" after my vision. You MUST read that - I feel that it is absolutely necessary or the journey you are embarking on. Also, herbalPsychic's suggestions of reading the Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Ted Andrew's Book Animal-Wise has resonance with me, so I will read those. I feel you should too.
In love and light, Sandy

Hello,
I don't know the backgrond of your 'ghost' boy as I am new to this website but you might want to look Ted Andrews Animal-Wise or his also his book Animal Speak. Both are excellent books on the meanings of animals.

I don't know if you have had to read Colerdige's poem "The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" in school but in the U.S. We did. Although that was eons ago for me. In that book to have an albatros around one's neck is a situation or phrase that speaks of bad omens and impending trouble. But in Ted's Andrew's book Animal-Wise we see a completely different view on the bird.

Here is an a bit taken directly from Ted Andrew's Book Animal-Wise regarding the Albatros or more common seagull.

"...The albatross is a bird of the sea, the ancient archetype of creativity, inspiration, mothering, and nurturing energies. The fact that it spends most of its life around the sea and feeding upon the marine life reveals the need for those to whom the albatross appears to be involved in creative and artistic endeavors.

The best known of its species is "the wandering albatross," one of the largest, with twelve-foot wingspan. Like most albatross, it is an expert glider and can stay airborne for long periods of time. The albatross is a patient bird and those to whom it has appeard must be patient and be willing to glide for long periods of time. It is not unusual to find that albatross people have a period of as much as seven years in which they seem lost and unfocused, perhaps even appearing not to have goals, but they know there is something out there in the world for them. Once they find it, it will last and sustain them through the rest of their life...

Albatross peole do not seem to know what to do. They are dreamers, always effortlessly seeking what will inspire and awaken them for more than just the moment. Many albatross people spend more time in school than other people, often changing their areas of study. Some seem to wander from job to job without goals or direction. Those around the albatross must be patient, for the albatross is always an omen of inspiration and ultimate success if searching continues.

To those whom the albatross appears come lessons in conserving and using our energies in the most beneficial manner. The albatross is a reminder that sometimes we have to commit fully in order to know if something is right. And even if it is not, the albatross promises that without some commitment, we will never succeed. When the albatross appears, it is a sign of something on the horizon for us. We must seek it out, trusting, and allowing the winds to carry us to that promised horizon." ~Ted Andrews, Animal-Wise The Spirit Language and Signs of Nature Dragonhawk Publishing 1999.

I hope this helps.

Years ago there was a book, I like books, called Jonathan Livingston Seagull (very very short) about flying as a seagull. I read it young, early teens probably, and didn't like it because it didn't seem like flying at all to me. Too wordy and non descriptive. Perhaps I'll read it again. I was thinking about it, out of the blue lately, even said it outloud a few days ago so that I would remember. It was published in the 1970 or 71 when I was 11 or 12. Just seemed an odd coincidence. To me it lacked something. Perhaps I was too young, so I'll try to read it again sometime and either learn or remember why it seemed silly. It did seem silly.

It could be a young boy that was a boy scout. I know they often get seagull badges but I don't know what they stand for.
