Synchronicity is the term that is given to a series of events that are related in terms of meaning or topic, for example you might be reading a book on World War Two, stop reading and turn on the TV. The first thing you see on TV is black and white second world war footage. This is mild compared to the synchronicity I have experienced. Usually people shrug it off as coincidence. But when a series of events is much larger, obvious and perhaps tangled with your thoughts, it is nothing short of amazing.
People have discussed this kind of thing in quantum mechanics and the occult, some suggest that there is a psychic connection. I am not here to debate the cause, but in my opinion some events are marked in time because of significance. Perhaps some people can see this relevance before the event. Now this could be called psychic, or perhaps because things are linked up in such a way that a person can tune into the events and for some reason know something is important or special with no concrete evidence, until the event occurs to confirm the thought. And going out on a limb, maybe there is something in the universe that plays out coincidences to prove a point. These are some ideas people have, I've briefly gone over them but need to do more research. Strangely though, I only read about this kind of thing after I found out about it on my own.
What I'm talking about is synchronicity mixed with a "understanding", like seeing keys open locks of events in a chain, and being able to almost see the next lock.
The reason I write this is simply to explain one of these events that has happened to me that was really outstanding. I've had strange events happen before, to confirm thoughts almost. Very hard to believe and even harder to put into words. But I now present to you a very clear series of events that happened to me that made me understand that there is much more to a coincidence or "fluke" than meets the eye.
I was in the lobby of a building, sitting and relaxing. For some reason there was a police car parked right outside in front of the door. It was there for quite a long time and later drove off. I remained in the lobby for a while. After a while I started tapping my foot. The taps were somewhat random, and I hummed notes to the tapping in my head, a random song. I stopped tapping my foot. Then out of the blue the lady at the front desk started to hum the (random) tune that I played in my mind, and she continued to do so for quite a while.
"Well that was strange!"
I figured that by some strange chance her mind played the same tune because of the beat of my foot, unusual but not a big deal.
Not a big deal until I went upstairs.
Upstairs the radio was on. I took a seat. Suddenly a man there started to tap his hand on the table to the sound of the radio! And he laughed for a minute for some reason. Well, there is a connection there I thought, maybe not a big deal but interesting for sure.
Now I thought that was very odd. I was trying to put the events together in a rational way, but I knew it was synchronicity. I pondered this for a few minutes. I thought of the band the Police because they had a CD called Synchronicity. It wasn't until much later that I remembered there was a police car out front for some time.
Suddenly something hit me like a ton of bricks. I should say "Police and synchronicity" out loud because it was very important for some reason. I went against this thought because I didn't want to appear like I was talking to myself.
The next song on the radio was by the Police off the album Synchronicity.
A future event. A link further down the line of coincidences? The ability to see the importance of the words, not just the meaning, but the thought to take action based on the outcome which one would think impossible. What would of happened if I had said the words around everyone?
These things do happen, perhaps to all of us, only some of us tuned into it? Knowing the importance of events that will lead to something that hasn't happened yet and chains of events linked, yet far apart. I could see the events developing into something as if it was fate, connected for a purpose.
