Seeing

Lately when people describe places where they have been or other things, I can see where they have been. Someone said they were staying in a hotel and was waiting in the foyer for someone.

I saw a picture instantly in my head-I could see the gleam of the floor the reception and the staff and what they were wearing, I could see the doors, the brass and I could describe the seating-the colours and textures of things, I could almost feel the air quality, the heat etc. I said nothing because I did not want to sound insane. I don't think people would understand. The person did not say any of these things to me it was just a small part of the conversation-ie-"I was waiting in the hotel".

This has happened to me a few times but it can be weeks between each experience.

I am wondering wether I just have an overactive imagination-but I am too worried to say anything to anybody that is talking to me about the places they have been or people they have spoken to in general conversation. I can even see the material of things it is almost like a magnifying glass bringing everything into view.

The last time it happened when the person was speaking I felt I was actually there and I had to concentrate really hard to keep my attention focused on what the person was saying. It was like a movie playing in my head.

I'm not scared of it happening again or anything like that, I would just like to try to understand what is going on.

I don't think I have heard of this before and a small part of me thinks that this is just not possible. I have no close family or friends that I feel I could trust with this-so if anybody has heard of anything like this before I would be greatful to hear about it.
