New House, Interesting Doors

My dad and I bought a duplex in November (or December?) last year. I loved the house, but the room under the stairs across my bedroom gave me the creeps as soon as I saw it. I keep an open mind for new experiences and when I meet new people, however when I get a strong feeling, I'm not one to ignore my intuition.

The room is right next to the bathroom. The second time we went to see the house I went exploring. I went into the bathroom and shut the door. I began to panic when it wouldn't open. I hadn't locked it, and I was able to turn the doorknob, but it was as if the door was stuck. I made myself calm down and examine the door. This time, I pushed down on the handle when I turned it. It opened with some resistance to my relief! I noticed the door to the room under the stairs was open. The door to the room is very small, one you would picture in Alice In Wonderland when she shrinks, or for children. I tried to close it again as it had been before when I had first entered the bathroom. I discovered that the door doesn't fit very well in its frame; it is unable to close fully.

I took it as a onetime thing, when I closed and opened the bathroom door several times successfully from the hallway rather than in the bathroom without it jamming. My dad bought the house.

I began to notice I found the door under the stairs halfway open every time I got out of the shower. I assumed the shower affected it somehow, seeing how the two rooms were close together. A week passed of this. Then one day, I closed the door while I had my shower. I got out, and went to open the door. It wouldn't open. I tried several times to open it, pressing the handle down as I had last time. My dad was upstairs so I began shouting and banging on the door. At this point, it's been awhile so I start ramming the door, as I m quite claustrophobic. I stop myself and try and calm down. It is then that the door opens. I step out, and see the door under the stairs wide open.

I refuse to close the bathroom door anymore. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and find the door under the stairs open though.

It is an area in my house I am actually scared of, and I feel ridiculous. Do you have any suggestions or explanations? I'd appreciate anything you have to say.

Have you tried actually exploring the room in real life? Just go down there and look around. Feel the walls, the ceiling, just see what you can find. There might be a spirit who is trying to tell you something about that room.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I also live in a duplex and have a room under the stairs. Whenever I dream and I go into that room in my dreams, there's always another door in that room that leads to a secret passage or to another dimension. I think there might be something intrinsically mystical about rooms under the stairs.

Try placing psychic barriers (just imagine them) on either door and see what happens.

What I would do is in my dreams, or through astral projection, explore the room. Dreams might be better though, as you can figure out what symbolism your mind has for it or your spirit guides can tell you things. Not to mention if you're not really travelling, you don't have to worry as much about protection.
I'm not exactly sure if it is anything, as the description was a bit confusing... Anything else happen in that room? 😉
