Gifted With Numbers?

This is so strange. Ever since I was little, I always had something with numbers. Now I'm not logical or mathematical at all - I'm actually TERRIBLE at all scientific subjects, like maths and physics - but I've always associated things with numbers.

For a start, ever since I can remember, when my parents would say: "Remember the time when we were in _____" I would always be able to say which year that was in, and how old I was at the time - even if I was only one or two years old.

That may seem normal-ish so far, but in the past few years, I've discovered something else I can do. I can guess when an event I'd never heard of before happened, and give the correct answer within five years. I'll give an example for you to understand better: once, in a music test, I was asked when somebody's sonata had been composed. I had missed the class about sonatas, so I would've had absolutely NO idea of the answer to that question had it not been for this gift. I closed my eyes and - it's difficult to explain - I sort of got this feeling that the sonata had been composed around 1895. I knew somehow that the composer was born around 1865.

I shrugged and thought, well, a guess is better than nothing; so I put down "approx. 1895" as an answer. And I was more or less right! It had been composed in 1897. Now let me remind you I had never heard of that sonata before, and I had missed the class about sonatas.

Another time, my best friend Victor was playing Beethoven's "Grande Sonate Pathétique" on the piano. I got this picture in my head of these people going to listen to it at a concert, dressed in late 18th century clothes. I asked Victor if the piece was from 1800. He told me it was from 1799.

Also, I like to research old photography, and several times, when I look at a picture, I know not only the year it was taken, but also the name of the person in it (often only their first name) and where it was taken. For example, once, I found this picture of a little girl, whom I guessed was named Mary Ann, or Marianne ____ (last name hidden for privacy), was born on Feb 18, 1882, and died in 1883 in Elkhart, Indiana. I did some research and found a family whose eldest daughter, Alwilda ____ (same last name), was born on Feb 18, 1887, and died in 1888 in the same city. She had a sister named Mary Ann. Coincidence? Or not?
