8yr Long Dream That Hurts Me

I have had a dream for 8 years. It would stop at certain times, and then continue the next night, going a bit further each time I would have it.

In this dream, I am standing under a bright white street light. I feel safe, protected. I am wearing a white knight gown that stops below my knees. My feet have no shoes on, I'm standing on gravel that is white. Behind me is a white church that looks a bit old. Before me and around the church is pure darkness.

I hear a very deep voice that snaps at me saying, "I've found you!"

My heart feels like it will burst and I run away into the darkness, away from the church, away from the voice. Something just demands me to run, and I can hear him running behind me. The darkness turns into a village, and I run into one of the huts thinking that I can hide from whoever it is chasing me.

When I go inside the hut, the walls are cemented like an alley. Covered with graffiti and there are homeless people just sitting around, trash everywhere. Some are grouped at a trash bin that is lit on fire to help keep them warm.

The man that is chasing me roars out in anger and I look around frantically to find a way out. There is a metal vent and I try to shimmy through it to get back outside, because the man is breaking down the hut door to get inside and grab me. The first time I go through the vent, I cut my leg and I awoke from the dream panting. Looking down I unravel the blankets from my body and see a long cut down my leg, bleeding.

When I have the dream again, I didn't cut myself and made it outside. Something told me to run back at the church, so I run. As I run up the steps, my hands reach out to grab at the doors. Before I could touch it the man grabs me and says, "Don't touch that. I have you now."

Though I am scared and thrashing to get away. His voice is very sensual and makes me shiver. I'm very confused by this. He pulls me away from the church, back under the bright white street light. All of a sudden the homeless people surround us, yelling at the man, saying, "Give her back to us! She is not yours!"

I hear him chuckle and he said, "No. She is mine. You will never get her back." He then picks me up and throws me over his shoulder, carrying me into the darkness with me screaming for help.

The only thing I know is that He wore all black. Shoulders were bare, tan, covered in black markings. I could not see anything past his chin so I have no idea what he looks like in the face, but the ends of his hair fell around his neck which was the color of blood red.

If I could have any help on this dream, I would appreciate it please. I feel that the guy is evil but his voice and the way he felt just seemed so familiar to me. It frightens me.
