When we were younger, me and my sister used to live in a house, next to an old roman road. I can't remember where it was, because we were only very young but I remember this clearly in my mind. I remembered my sister opening the window, and talking to someone. I went up to her and asked "Who are you talking to?" and she replied "Him!" and pointed out of the window, and coming into view as I went to look out of the window, was a Roman Soldier. I said "Hello!" and we were telling to each other and he was telling me and my sister how much we reminded him of his children, and how they were murdered and his wife was captured when he tried to leave the army. He was saying, if he could, he would take us to be his children (not in a nasty way, but in a kind and joking way if you understand me.)
Me and my sister would talk to him on a daily basis, and I remember at about 2 o'clock he would run away, without even saying goodbye, and then come round and down the roman road on his horse.
Also in that house, on some nights (about every 6 months, I think) we would hear horses hooves and marching men and the clattering of swords and other weapons at night, and other things like battle cries and it sounded just like an army marching down the road. Even though we could hear it, whenever we looked outside, we could never see anything.
Has anyone else ever had an experience like this?
