As a child, I would suddenly hear my name when I was home alone. My name has a certain tone to it, so does yours if you say it out loud, like Anna for example. A-nna it goes up then down right? We are all extra sensitive to that tone of our names since we were babies to react when mother is calling. Ones I actually said "yes?" out loud to later remember I was home alone. I felt so silly. When I was older I read that's how spirits let you know they're around for a visit.
I want to explain how I hear my voices, maybe you hear to and can relate to my way of hearing?
I call the actual moment of hearing "zapping". Because the words are so intense and loud, it feels they cut into me.
As you read this, say (think) in your head that you are counting to 4. You "hear" yourself saying/thinking one, two, three, four. Right? Now THAT'S the voice. But it comes with no control, unexpected and it's quite loud! Like a flash to your ear!
The morning after my boyfriend's mother's death, I heard her just before I opened my eyes when I woke up (that's when I usually hear the voices). She said; "Forget about what happened yesterday, I'm ok now." It was said in a strict and serious tone. She died from cancer. She must have felt a lot of pain. Knowing her, I know exactly what she meant.
I usually hear just before I wake up, but sometimes it can come to me at any time of the day. I was ones "told" that I'm supposed to hold on to my money. I was actually told by my voices, to save my money. But I thought WHY? I love shopping and everything is just fine!
Then 6 months later the world was struck by a financial crisis. I kind of want to tell myself "I told you so". I will never forget myself for that.
And last time, I was told to break up with my boyfriend before it was too late because "time flies" as the voice said. I don't know what the hell that meant. I'm young, I have all the time in the world right?

I am a lucid dreamer and I also hear the voice of the souls, female, male and angel voices. As I know, they are the "classmates" from the virtual classroom as well they are our spiritual guides. I can hear them only in my dreams, maybe it is not so weird as to hear them awaken. Sure I know 1-2 (no more) people, who can do it. Sometimes just a song is coming to my head, which is also guide me.
This note is pretty old, so probably now you can handle your skill. My only advice is that, just listen them, compare to the "real" happenings, to collect and store these informations is also important, because of the psychical pollution these informations usually are not complete. Maybe you can find the meaning a few weeks later. And our clear sense here is just rarely more than 75%

You can know a couple of important things (far not everything) about the level of the spirits. There are mistakes too, but basically you can learn a lot of things.

He was a hard abused, raped, crucified kid. He found me in 2003. Since that I just dream the horror what happens to him, but I couldn't help him. Now he is truncated completly.
