My mom's good at catching things. Knowing what my brother and I are up to. Most of it is very explainable, such as dirt at the window suggesting someone snuck out. But some of it doesn't make sense as to how she knows it. Like she's got some sort of psychic power or something. Here's a few of mine and my brother's experiences. They're very recent, and one of them happened only last night. Here's 3 of them.
---MOST RECENT----
So my brother was driving me home from the haircutters about an hour ago, and he asks randomly, "Did anything happen this morning?"
And I say, "No, well besides 3 of your friends leaving. Mommy showed them out."
He mutters a swear, so I ask, "What's wrong? They weren't supposed to be there, were they?"
He replies with, "No, but how could she have found them? They were in the back room of the basement."
And that makes sense to me, because I personally have never even been in that room, it's used for storage of couches and other large things. He goes in the basement a lot, and he's only been in that room two or three times before. So I reply, "What time did they come over here?"
He replys with "2:00am. Mom was asleep then."
And then it really started to make no sense, because he said that they got dropped off on the street, and I have a VERY long driveway. Besides, my mom was asleep. They didn't make any noise, but even if it did it wouldn't matter. The basement's walls are made of cement, at least 5 feet of solid cement PLUS a door with no bottom opening PLUS my mom was asleep two floors above PLUS she has a tumor in one of her ears making it so that she can't hear out of that ear. I'm right next to the basement, and I didn't hear a thing. I didn't see a thing, I didn't notice anything unusual the next day, and yet the first thing my mom does when we get home (from my swim practice at 8:00am) is go in that room. My mom never goes down there, she had no reason to, all the stuff down there is too large for her to carry up alone. Yet she goes down there, finds my brother's three friends, makes them leave, and then drives away. She came back into the house 5 minutes later to grab breakfast- It was like she walked into the house JUST to find my brother's friends, not to get breakfast. It's weird, and it's unexplainable.
-----FIRST SUSPICIONS-----
This was around 3 or 4 months ago. I was grounded, and so I couldn't have any friends over or use my computer. To enforce the fact that I couldn't use my computer, my mom changed the password on it. Of course, I happen to love computers and need the internet to survive, so I found an old computer of ours, a laptop about 6 years old that doesn't run very well. It hadn't been used since Christmas, and the month was March. It was around 12am (Midnight) and so I went to the basement and got the computer. My parents, again, are two floors up. No way they could've heard me. I snuck back into my room, and put the computer on my bed. I then went to check on whether my parents were asleep. They were; My dad was snoring and my mom was breathing heavily. I snuck back to my room without making a sound. I plugged the computer into my wall, and opened it ONLY when I was sure that there was no way to get caught; Parents were asleep, no lights on, no sound, nothing. I opened the computer and then started to play games. There was no sound turned on the computer. I was happily playing and was just about to turn the computer off and put it back when the light goes on in the hall. I shut the computer as fast as I can, shove it under my covers, and lay down, pretending to be asleep. I was laying on top of the computer, so nothing looks unnatural. My mom shoves open my door open, turns the light on, looks at me, and goes "What are doing?!"
I don't reply, and she walks over and snatches the computer up from underneath me and stomps off. How could she have known? She was asleep. No sound. No lights. Yet she woke up at one in the morning, walked over to my room, opened the door, and says that. How did she know?!
------MY BROTHER'S EXPERIENCE (Or one of them) -----
Sorry this one isn't very descriptive, my brother wasn't descriptive when he told me.
My brother, Torrey, decides he's hungry at 2am. He gets up, goes outside, and turns the car on, drives to Sheetz and grabs some fries. He comes back to see my mom standing in the driveway, in her bathrobe. She asks him where he's been, and he says Sheetz, to get some food. She's ticked and then tells him to go inside. The thing is, my parent's window faces the backyard, not the front. Even if she was up, she couldn't have seen the headlights. How did she find out?
These are just a few of the experiences my brother and I have had with my mom. It goes beyond "Motherly Senses", and it's almost like it's supernatural. That's why I posted it here. I hope someone can help.

From what you have said of your mother, she appears to be very protective. This obviously stems from love, and where there is love there is little need of fear.
My mother was much the same, I was not very close to her either. Speaking with her about these things brought us closer, and I soon learned how very wise and insightful she was. I now consider her my closest friend and she has my unconditional trust.
I do understand that some mothers might not be so understanding.
