This is my first time posting to this site and I'm not sure how to classify this experience. This was the earliest paranormal event I can recall, even though my mother informs me that when I was much younger I would draw & name detailed pictures of animals she'd never seen and that I hadn't been exposed to at that age (but that is another story). I nearly forgot about this childhood incident until I started journaling, so here goes.
I was between the ages of 5 to 9 and at home standing at the edge of the kitchen facing our dining room. Our 1970's dining room chairs had a carved (or molded) design on the backs and if you looked at them in an abstract sense, you could discern a face, at the very least, the brow, eyes, and an elongated nose.
On this particular day while examining the chair-back for the umpteenth time, a nose and a set of eyes pushed outward slightly. The eyes rolled once or twice and then the face pulled back in and disappeared.
Needless to say "it" scared the heck out of me and I told no one (my husband knows now). I don't know what the face was. I don't know if it was my Spirit Guide just trying to be silly or what? Maybe it was something other-worldly trying to scare me? Either way I was not amused.
