I have vivid memories of my mother's childhood! It's entirely possible that there are other people's memories stuck in my head but I've only ever been able to verify my mom's. That being said, for each and every occasion on which we've discovered her "intrusive" memories in my head, I had originally believed them to be my own. For example, something "made" me think about my old room when I was little, so I asked my mom "where was the house we lived in that had the door inside my bedroom closet that opened into your bedroom closet?" I wait, smiling as I fondly recall thinking of it as some sort of cool secret passage, when she looks at me in shock. "That was MY room when I was a little girl!". Over the years (I'm 40, by the way) we've become accustomed to my memory thieving so it's not as big of a shock. Though, I must admit, especially with the fun ones, it's a bit sad when I realize it was never my memory to begin with. I liken it to having a stray puppy follow you home and keeping her for years like a part of the family. One day, the neighbor down the street shows up, says "Sandy" is her long lost puppy and takes her away. You can still see her but she's not yours anymore. Yes. It reeeeeaaallly sucks.
Aaaanyway, is there a name for this... Um... Gift? I've dealt with clairaudience for most of my life and have, over the past 10 years or so, experienced an increasing number of mental images (I hate calling them visions). The one commonality for nearly all of my psychic and paranormal experiences is that they've been directly tied to my blood relations (living and dead).
Could you pleeeeeease point me in the direction of some research materials, books, names, links or anything about multigenerational-psychical-familial-memory-inheritance and communication? How do you like that fancy technical term, lol?
