Seeing A Hell-hound?

When I was younger I used to have the power to see and talk to ghost and other spirits. I had this power many years passed the 5 year old mark many people say exist. Most of the ghost I could see and talk to where entity's attached to my parents, like dead aunts and uncles. At the time I didn't know this but now many years later my mom has confessed that most of the stories these "friends" of mine told me where things that happened to her when she was younger and that at least two of my "friends" at the time had given me names of people who where with my mom when these stories happened. I also knew things that these beings had told me that no matter how overactive a kids imagination, I could not have come up with. I somehow could describe what my great Grandmother wore all the time when she was alive, She died many years before I was born. My mom didn't really ever talk about her past before she got with my dad because a lot of it was really tragic. That is why she was confused because she hadn't ever told anyone who would have told me about these things.

But one day when I was in 4th grade, I believe, maybe 3rd me and my sister where getting off the bus to walk up to our house and there was a large black dog. This dog I believe was a hell-hound because of the overwhelming hatred that radiated from it and the reddish glow from it's eyes. This dog growled and barked at me and my sister, And then ran off when my sister treated it like any other stray that would come on to our land, by yelling and throwing rocks at it. The dog then ran into the woods that was behind our house and vanished. This was the first time I saw it.

The dog looked a lot like this one with more of a red glow to it's eyes: https://johnknifton.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/hellhound-zzzzz.jpg?w=500

A few weeks later it decided to make another appearance when I had went outside to play by myself in our yard. The dog was in the same place as it was the first time in the middle of our driveway and it growled and barked and acted like a normal dog would if it was trying to bite you. It scared me really bad because I was young at the time. But it soon left when my sister came outside. But around this time is when from my understanding I stopped talking about my friends and their stories.

When my mom asked me about it I gave her a statement along the lines of they left. I didn't see the dog again for many years then right before we had to move from that house I was going out back to throw away trash and I saw the dog clear as day just walking in the woods.

It had stopped and looked at me and I ran inside to get help. Terrified I got my dad to come outside after much convincing, and the dog was gone. After this ordeal I no longer could see/hear spirits.

I figured I would let you all know that the first time the dog was just passed off a a dog one of neighbors had raised to be mean and then let loose because they had done this before but the dog we thought it was in particular had ran away to the saw mill down the road and got hit and killed between the first and second sighting. Since this story I have been unable to see or hear any spirits at all. I have though kept the empathic ability I had before all of this, It has actually gotten stronger but I pass that off to knowing more about emotions now. I also have relived and reviewed all of this with the other people involved years later that is how I know about the stories I told. So the question I have is this

Can seeing a hell-hound make you lose your ability to see spirits.

One night there was a dog barking with furry outside my restroom window. By the tone change I could tell it was roaming the streets. It was an extremely loud, fast and angry bark but in my head it was changing into a baby cry. I was made/forced to be very scared, like it was radiating fear, because I am not scared easily. I somehow knew it was a secret and I shouldn't talk about it. I am taking that risk.

First I do not believe it was a hellhound, that is purely ludicrous. This isn't being said to offend you or belittle your perceptions, its just not likely at all. 2nd, this dog could not take powers, they haven't the power. Another psychic with the correct abilities could. A demon, poltergeist, or shadow person could. Certain substances or objects can be used to, but not a dog. 3rd while emotions are strong enough to weaken, sometimes strengthen and othertimes temporarily block, they are nearly always not powerful enough to block powers permanently. 4th most people lost their abilities naturally as they age, very few keep their abilities and even fewer grow stronger. It is most likely something or one took your abilities OR you naturally and simply lost them. Have any questions, feel free to email me, its in my profile

It could have been a stray dog that was abuse or abandoned by its past owners or people that hates dogs. If it were a hellhound, then why would it run away? You must have lost your abilities because you were afraid, fear blocks all abilities, especially doubts, and other negative thoughts related to this.
Hope this helps,

P.S. If I were you, I could have treated that dog like a pet, not a monster/scary being.
