I play airsoft regularly at a 5 acre private field in Colorado. My friends and I would do matches during the night for the fun of it. During some of those matches, we would see something shaped like a human, but we would only see pitch black, a silhouette. We would ask which one of us it was, and it would be none of us. It would even approach us at high speeds with all of us accounted for and grouped up, then vanish again. This field is very overgrown, and this silhouette has been reported doing things that no regular human can easily accomplish, much less at high speeds and near silently. Now would be a good time to point out that we do record with go-pro camera's when we airsoft, though not during night matches unless it's a well-lit night from any sources. I also only ever use a co2 powered pistol, and when available, a sniper.
One night we were airsofting, no respawns. I decided I would play defensive and wait to ambush anyone who came past me. I heard a very slight rustle behind me, turned around, and saw it flash away again.
Of course I was very creeped out as I didn't know it's intentions. I stood from my hiding place, and started to move through the clearest possible path. Every single one of us had a flashlight for safety and gameplay reasons. Moving on instinct, I found the others quickly, and of course, even eliminated them from the game. We took no time to get out of there as we all knew it was in the field. We made our way back to my car to check our gear, and decided to go home for that night after finding out that it was getting closer.
Since it got so close to me, we have not seen it in the field, though my friends do report that I do things described as "Ghost-like" and of course "Creepy". Two of these incidents were caught during the daytime games, on camera.
The first was during a hunted match. Two of us hide in the field, the other two enter a couple minutes later and hunt the first two down.
Naturally, I was hiding in the field.
I waited until a member of the opposing team was close enough... Then took a shot... It grazed his knee, and as per our rules, a graze isn't a "kill". He ran back to his teammate, who had made a ghetto riot shield, and took it into the field for that match. He yelled a profanity at being so close to being eliminated, because although airsoft is a game... It is a game that can hurt. He opened fire with a battery powered valken m4 through all the bushes where my teammate was hiding, while asking his teammate if he saw where I was.
I stood up, partly down a hill, and jogged to a tree as I remember it, and then found a patch of loose sand and used it to slid down a steep hill. It tore my jeans open, left a gash about 6 inches long down my right shin.
In the raw footage, I walked casually, and as described by my oldest friend "Ghost-like" to the tree, then vanished. The vanishing part I can understand, but I remember I got behind that tree just as bb's started hitting off of it.
In the second strange happening, we were playing hunted, again. This time, it was me and my oldest friend against the two newest guys. My team was hunting.
I told my friend to wait in the field, away from the grove of trees that marks our normal play area, for it's cover and how easy it is to slip around there... But it's nearly impossible to move around without being spotted, even in a tree.
I walked around, slowly getting closer to the trees. I saw a face mask shine from the sunlight between a fork in the trees. Knowing his position, and that I was out of his effective range with his battery powered famas, I kept strolling closer. I went up and down a hill as I did so, knowing he wouldn't dare break his imagined cover by yelling for his teammate. I had taught him personally to wait until the right moment, to stay calm under pressure.
I strolled down the hill, and he jumped out and opened fire. By the time he was in a good line to fire, I was already running up a hill, back out of his effective range. I went into the field, got out of sight, then dropped to my stomach and belly crawled so they couldn't see where I was moving. I met up with my teammate, and we moved in slowly through the weeds, and we took them out one at a time.
What was so strange about this is that, in the recording, I simply materialize as if out of a thick fog. I don't walk out from behind a tree, I just fade into sight, right in front of my friend's camera. When I run off, I'm not seen by the camera or my friend by the time I get to the top of the hill, though that part may be due to some other reason. When I'm already well out of the area of my friend, it seems like that "fog" clears up. There was no fog that day. It was a bright, sunny day, and I used that to spot the glint off my friend's face mask. I don't remember what went through my mind other than just gut feelings on my friend's actions, and an almost predator like instinct. I think at the time I had remembered something that people claimed could make you seemingly invisible... But I don't know if I had used it or not.
A long time ago I was told that completely clearing your mind, or completely clouding your mind, could make you seemingly invisible. I know I had tried it at one point, but I don't know if that was when, or why the camera even showed me as fading into existence within 40 feet of my friend.
I would like to remember how I did it, or if it could be the thing that was in the field helping me in the matches in some strange way. It has gone as far as being able to use deer that end up in the field by spooking them, which in turn would spook the other players. It'd also be nice to know what it was in the field, but I have a feeling on what they are, as now I see them everywhere I go.
