Hard To Believe

Before I got married, I never experienced any sort of ghost-related incidents. I'm not sure of other religions and beliefs but in my religion, it is said that when a person is really sick and weak, there are lots of spirits that may wander throughout that particular home.

Just some time before my father-in-law passed away (and this was about 3.5 years ago), I had a couple of experiences as well as my husband. I remember once during the daytime, my husband and I had taken a nap. I woke up for no reason, looked around my room, and closed my eyes. But before I did so, I saw a little girl run past the foot of my bed. I thought it was his little niece but then I remembered I had locked our door. I didn't know what to think of because I was scared out of my wits.

The following night, I came home from work about 3 in the morning and was trying to get ready for bed. Now, our bathroom has no window, no vent for A/C but something was in there with me. It had gotten chilly and I felt a breeze. It seemed kind of funny because in Georgia, the weather is sometimes pretty humid at night and in the middle of the summer, the house is not cold.

A couple of months ago, I was upstairs doing my laundry. Now, to get into the attic, you'd have to go through the laundry room. I remember closing the laundry room after I took out the clothes and recalled the attic door was closed. It was only my husband and his brother home along with my baby and myself.

About 5-10 minutes folding my laundry, I heard the attic door close. It could not have been the wind because it was not windy. There wasn't any pressure at all! I went downstairs just to find out that I was in the house alone. My husband was in the garage with his brother and told me he hasn't been inside the house for a good hour.

I can't count how many times I've has "visits" but just a couple of nights ago, after bathing my 6 month old baby, I saw something in my mother-in-laws closet. I always give my baby a bath in her restroom because it has a lot more space. While trying to get him ready for bed, I looked into the bathroom to see if I had left anything in there. While my eyes passed her closet, I saw what looked like a man standing in the doorway. It wasn't looking at me, it was sort of standing on his side and this was only a split second sighting. While running downstairs, I thought it'd been my father-in-law because he man looked like him.

I ran to my mother-in-law and told her what I saw. She then called her sister-in-law because her sis-n-law had some sort of "special" connections with the "other side". She then told me that I will be a Shaman and will need to practice its arts. I have the ability to spiritually travel to the other side and seek comfort for those who need it.

I have trouble believing this because I have never in my life believed in such ridiculous things but then again, why do I sometimes see the supernatural? I always question myself the same question over and over again. Honestly, I am very afraid but was told to not be. The things I see are there to help me, to help me guide others who are in need. "They" just want to let me know that I will have to get used to them sooner or later. I don't think I'd ever not be scared.

If you would like to now more about my religion, try looking for "Hmong Religion" online and researching a little bit more.

Thanks for reading.

I've had a very good friend, actually a couple though I met the husband first, from Vietnam. He is Hmong and so is she and we exchange presents and I love them both. We connect in many ways. We share experiences and knowledge and don't go into spiritual knowledge. He does seem a target of odd things, ghosts. I've felt them and sensed them, but really felt their weakness. They don't bother me much. Heartburn worries me more. Perhaps it's cultural. I do believe in a defense though - I pray. It seems to help. My biggest complaint is boredom often. Praying in the name of Christ makes a difference for me. It might not to you. Perhaps it's a mental thing from my young years. I know the new age people say it's all mental, but I only really fly when allowed to do it. Then, I really do fly.

Yes, there are times when it can be scary, however, there are times when we have the advantage to see our loved ones after they've passed. Some you will find comfort and some just the opposite. You are lucky you have someone to help guide you. Many of us seem lost for years not understanding and have no guidance. I have been experienceing things since I've been a little girl and I am still learning and questioning what I need to do.
