Can They Heal Me?

This isn't exactly a story, but more of a question for those who are exceptionally more knowledgeable than me when it comes to anything psychic/medium related. Basically, my question is, is it possible to seek help or guidance from your spirit guide (or anything else, for that matter) in terms of mental illness?

As I have mentioned in a previous story, I used to be very in-touch with spirits, I just lost those abilities the older I got (you know how it is, when boys and shoes suddenly become appealing, nothing else is worthy of your attention).

Anyway, I have been practising meditation for a couple of weeks now in hopes of reducing stress, depression, severe anxiety, and urges that those who are bulimic will definitely understand; however I have yet to notice any changes. Incase you need more of a background, I am 18 and have struggled with the few things mentioned above since before I can remember. Yes, I have tried taking medication (something I hate doing), and visiting a therpaist (also hate doing) and have found absolutely nothing that helps me long term.

So, have any of you seeked help or guidance (and recieved it) from your guides or higher entities when it comes to mental illness, and if so, how did you contact them? I should add that the last time I tried to contact my spirit guide I somehow managed to attract a less than friendly spirit and ended up having to confess to my mom and have her salt the entire house.

To state the obvious, I am very desperate.

Any information will be ever so greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Immigrant-Song - Thank you, I will keep this in mind. If you don't mind me asking, what helps you with your depression and anxiety?

hrk, I had depression and anxiety off/on for long periods (& didn't like med.s), have had many 'psychic' experiences and am very 'in-tune' with animals. You may well be just a very sensitive person, as you've mentioned being in touch with spirits when you were a child; more recently an unfriendly one when you sought guidance. I suggest you ask for guidance from, yes, an angel like Raphael, or anyone that *you know* you can trust, regardless of your faith/beliefs, and don't worry about being 'spiritually evolved', etc. Meditation can be whatever you'd like it to be, ie.; letting yourself 'get lost' in the company of animals, art, shoes, dreaming about boys, putting together outfits, working with colors, nature, hobbies, etc. As long as YOU feel good, for as long or short as you can. And Trust Yourself Most Of All. "To thine own self be true", W. Shakespeare. Blessings:o)

hrk, I found this info from Doreen Virtue, I thought it might help you:

It's not important how you ask for help, but only that you do ask for it. Here are important points to remember when requesting Archangel Raphael's assistance:
1.Ask for help, either aloud or silently. He can only help if you ask, because he won't violate your free will.
2.Pour your heart out to Raphael, explaining your feelings.
3.Visualize emerald green healing light surrounding the health concern.
4.Notice and follow any Divine guidance that comes to you in terms of intuitive directions as to which action steps to take.
5.Keep asking for help until healing occurs.

Anne - Thank you very much. I am very grateful for such a detailed response! I'm glad to know my guide hears me, and I will continue speaking to her/him! I will definitely keep up with the meditation, and yes, I do too find animals very calming and I most certainly consider myself a crazy cat lady;)
Thank you again for your advice; I'm very confident it will help me.

Don't give up on the meditation. I have recently started myself, a little over 2 months now, and I am really starting to notice changes! You may also try asking the Archangel Raphael for help, he is the angel of healing. I was having issues (physical) and aked Raphael for help and the next day all the pain was gone! Raphael's healing domain is physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and energetic healh.

We can always ask for assistance from a guide but humans are an "at will" species. That means, we have free will and assistance may or may not be provided due to what we need to get out of the experience. For example, if you need to learn a spiritual lesson, you will have to endure the event, without assistance, because the point is to learn. If we all just asked for assistance for all our woes, we'd miss out on the entire purpose as to why we are here. We have to fall off the bike a few times, get back on, and learn to ride. We will not be denied spiritual maturity.

Your spirit guides are not the only beings out in the ether. As you found you, you attracted a lower level entity. We attract what we are. That's not to say you don't have positive guides, you do, but until you develop more fully you may not be able to have a direct conversation with them, per se. But they are certainly listening so keep asking for guidance. When it's appropriate, it will come. Everything they do is for your better good but you may not recognize that at first.

Mental illness is a difficult subject because we are very complex beings. Life is also exceptionally difficult, especially for young people. There is an immense amount of peer pressure but also from society at large. It's amazing all young women haven't plunged off a bridge from what is expected of them. I do feel for you my dear. I also don't blame you for not wanting to take medication. I always say to people that when you pass, you take "you" with you and you won't have medication to fix that. We have to get to the root of our issues while we have a physical shell. Our purpose is largely to come to understand ourselves and learn how to love ourselves and others. However, if a person is feeling they want to harm themselves, then take medication until that has passed.

Meditation is fantastic. Good work on that, but realize that it will take more than a couple of weeks. You sound as if you may be an empath and empaths have to be very careful about how they spend their time. I am one so know full well how important silence, nature, calm companions, etc., are to my well-being. While you can't control some of that living with your parents, you do have some control over your day. Rid yourself of any energy vampires in your life. Spend time walking in a park or the most natural setting you can find. Pets are also great to help reduce anxiety. I have two dogs and I tell you, they keep a smile on my face from sun up to sun down. Also, bathe with Epson salts, avoid caffeine and reduce your time in front of the tv.

Focus on the love emotion, even if you can't quite find something to love. For me, I use my pets or my beautiful garden to pull out that emotion when I need to. Then the day really does start to look brighter.

Hope this helps.
Anne
