Thank you all! Especially you, Rain, you always find the time to help others, as I see it:)
I am going to buy a dreamcatcher at this Psychic store near my local mall. Anyways, I too, believe that there is a Dream World-except that this realm actually combines every other reality into it.

I believe there is a complex dream world. Sometimes you see the future, sometimes you see beings from other worlds and spirit worlds and alternate realities, sometimes you see things that symbolize your subconscious or are an inner part of you, and sometimes you see the past, present, or future of the physical world. It is hard to know which is which, but everything means something. Maybe you should go to the library from your dream and investigate.

To answer your question directly. It could be real. But that doesn't mean that it is.
Dreams are from the subconscious and thus are vurnerable to outside forces.
I believe that bad dreams are the result of outside forces trying to mess with you.
The lady is likely some dark entity that delites in causing nightmares.
I stopped haveing bad dreams (for the most part) when I started using a dreamcatcher.
I don't know why it works, but it does. (Before I got it I used to dream that me or my family died horribly every night.)
Also, if the dream was truely a vision, you would almost certainly know.
(Before I sleep I always ask for protection as well and shield myslef for good measure. On times when I forget, I usually have nightmares too.)
Anyway this is my take on things. Hope it helped ^_^

I know you go somewhere else when you dream, but I'm not sure it's one world. I think it might be multiple, maybe even infinite worlds. Also, I think sometimes I might astral-project during dreams, thus familiar places...
