My First Conscious Out Of Body - With Assistance?

This story is going to be a little disjointed I fear, as the dream and following states I was in are a little disjointed. I am posting this for anyone who has had a similar experience to discuss or to give advice, towards the end I've asked a couple of questions.

This morning I had a lucid dream about 6am that I woke from, very simple lucid dream, I was on a soccer field alone and realized I was dreaming so I kicked the ball and mentally directed it into the top right hand corner of the goal. A friend arrived and distracted me and I lost lucidity (thanks for that Steve).

A short while after I woke up and could feel the vibrations, which anyone familiar with sleep paralysis will be aware of, sometimes they scare me, other times they don't, which means I am getting better as they used to all scare the hell out of me.

Having read Robert Monroe's 'Journey's out of the body' I decided to try and 'roll out'. I was able to move my 'astral' arms and reach over and touch the floor initially. After a while I was able to fully roll out and was in a 'press up position' on the floor. All the time knowing that my body was up on the bed. I concentrated and floated up to the ceiling, then I felt anxious and automatically moved back into my body. It felt similar to when you get a fright in a dream and are shot back into your body, except in slow motion, I calmly floated back into my body.

Now the trouble was, throughout this whole experience, I could not see anything. The floor and ceiling were where I perceived them to be, but whenever I tried to open what I will call my 'astral eyes', my eyes started to open on my physical body, like it was waking my body up.

Question 1: Has anyone experienced such a thing and if so, how did you get around this? Any tips on how can I open my eyes and see what's around me when in this state?

Finally, now I am not sure if this occurred before or after I managed to 'roll out' of my body', but I felt a presence, 2 or 3 other beings in the room that seemed to be involved in the vibration process I think and it felt like they were trying to assist me in getting out of my body. There was a being I perceived as female, dark hair wearing a gray and black striped top, that is all I recall, no facial features just her presence. A short time after they had appeared to have left, a I started to get a little scared during the vibrations and asked for her to return, which she did, and she said to me in what seemed a rather jocular tone, "I do this about 30 times a week!".

Now it did seem in good spirit and like she has something to do with my being in these other states, assuming when I am asleep and unaware what is going on, seeing as lucid dreaming accounts for about 0.001% of my total dreaming life.

So Question 2: Has anyone had any similar interactions with entities when trying to get out of their bodies?

Sorry for this being a bit long winded.

Cheers,

Andy

There will sometimes be other entities there. They are there to help you. Sometimes the beings you may encounter may be artificial entities, meaning they are manifested thought forms, but normally if they are there when you are just leaving your body, they are real entities.

If you want to experience higher levels of consciousness, sit down and chant "Om" slowly and deeply. Because of the non-physicality of nature out there, help will arrive instantaneously. You may be pulled and sent flying, soon landing in a more beautiful location. Your astral vision should arrive. Sooner or later, you will meet your guide. Someone I know (www.multidimensionalman.com) claimed that when he first met his guide, he recognised him as a friend he'd known for thousands of years.

Thanks again, I'll take your advice on board and give it a go next time.

It's annoying as after the experience earlier this week I've been unable to get back into the vibration state. Setting alarms early and getting up for a bit before going back to sleep but all to no avail. I'll just have to stay in bed at the weekend until it happens:).

Take care,

Andy.

I raise the vibration by "going dead". What I mean is, you're trying to mimic deep sleep while you're lucid. To stop all thoughts and slow pulse even more mimics this state of sleep. Thinking and concentrating fires up your thoughts which send electrical signals which increase the magnetic hold, not loosen it. Less thoughts the better. And if you can get to where you can lift astral arms, then pull like heck. The head is generally the last to detach because you have several major chakras in the vicinity (throat, third eye and crown) and again, it's all about that magnetic hold and loosening it up. We project every night when we sleep. What we're trying to do here is be conscious during the process.

Good luck!

Is the best way to raise the vibration to focus on it and try and shift it from head to toe?

Anne - thanks heaps for the response, this makes a lot of sense.

During lucid dreaming, I've had the same problem with seeing at times and it has ALWAYS been when I've been LDing in the vicinity of my bedroom.

I even once recall walking into another room and vision coming to me. I will take your advice on board for next time RE setting a goal.

Thanks as always for your advice on these topics.

It really is much appreciated.

Hi Andy,

It's not uncommon to have spirits help you.

The trick to what I call "etheric anomalies" is to immediately exit the room. Within ten feet of your physical body is a magnetic hold that can immediately bring you back as well as cause the inability to see with your astral eyes and even freeze up the astral form (like your walking in goo). The moment you leave the vicinity, your sight comes into focus. I wrote a beginner's guide on my astral projection webpage (http://www.astralvoyage.com/projection/index.html). Another important tip is to have a plan! Know exactly what you want to do. Don't make the mistake of just hanging out in your room as you'll be incapacitated most times and get very little out of the experience. When I exit, I immediately get out of the room and then focus on my goal/destination. The will power is the key to getting there. You don't have to walk or even fly, just will yourself to what, where or whom you wish to see.

Vibrations are good. It means if you raise them high enough, exit is easy. When mine feel like about an 8.0 earthquake, I'm off!

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of Robert Monroe's books. Another good author is William Buhlman.

Best to you!
Anne
