I have had small things happen all my life that somehow I knew were going to happen. And the first that really hit me that I should not have been able to know in any way was the twins.
I have a godfather that is absolutely the best guy you could ever know, and he'd been married for a few years to a woman that could not have been a better match for him. One summer, they invited me and my two younger cousins to spend a week with them at their place. It was a lot of fun, and I remember thinking "they'll be awesome parents."
I told you that to tell you this. A year or two ago, I was walking into the kitchen when my mom comes around the corner and says "Guess what?!" I stopped dead and a thought just snapped into place and I said it before I really thought the words over. "Twins. A boy and a girl." Her face dropped and she looked at me like I'd just become the burning bush. "How did you know?"
But I was wrong on one count. My brother is a bit notorious for his ability to get a girl pregnant, so my first thought after saying that was that HE was the one that was the father. However I didn't say that out loud so when she started to explain that my godfather and his wife were expecting, I was both relieved and put off that I was wrong.
But I was right on a whole other thing at the same time. I'd had a boy's name on my mind for weeks before this and I couldn't really say why. The name was Alexander, which is what they ended up naming the little boy, though I never mentioned the name to anyone. The two are now two years old and two of the most adorable blondies you could ever meet.
I used to have these things happen a lot more, but lately I don't know how to practice this ability, so now it happens less often. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be open to them.
When things like this happen I seem to feel that it is an early connection between you and the twins. It's an early hello from them to you. Some people have a connection to others that way. Enjoy your family.
