I am so glad I was able to find this site, because I have been experiencing these events all my life, but even more so over the past year. Here is what happened to me last week.

I worked in an office building with a very attractive woman who worked on another floor for 10 years. We never spoke that much, other than hellos in the elevator. One day I heard her on the cell phone speaking Portuguese and figured she was Brazilian, but I never asked her to confirm. Last week my brother and I were talking about a very popular Brazilian super model, to which I said I would love to meet her one day.

Well on a side note, my car needs to go in for repairs, so I have been setting up an appointment to take it in. I have an older BMW that I have been on the fence about repairing, but lately I have been leaning more towards restoring it and getting it back on the road so I can enjoy it once more.

Friday afternoon I get a phone call from a local number, but I let it go to voicemail. When I checked I heard it was from "Caroline" and there was a call back number. When I called back, the woman says, "Hi, I hope this isn't too forward, but we used to work together years ago. It's Caroline, the Brazilian from the 7th floor. Since your company left, I have been wanting to call you, but never had the courage to." She went on to tell me how much she would love to meet for drinks and how much she has been thinking about me since my company left that building. I was floored.

To top it off, "Caroline" is the name of the company that I was taking my car to for repairs that weekend. I never knew this woman's name in all the years I would see her around, but I was always happy to see her in passing. I noticed she wore a wedding ring, so I never thought to ask her out. I talked about her a few times to my sister, but that was it; I never discussed her to any of my co-workers or friends.

She is recently divorced so we have been talking for the past day or so, and it is more surprising that she has wanted to get to know me for quite some time. She still wants to meet for drinks. At first I thought this was some sort of hoax, but what were the chances of that ever happening? I never gave her my phone number, name, or any other personal information other than her knowing the name of my company.

My birthday is also in October, so I always joked to myself that I was working in a 10 story building for 10 years, so this birthday I would celebrate working in a new building.
