Sometimes experiences don't need to be scary. One of my uncles passed away about 5 years ago. He lived most of his life in Chicago. I didn't saw him in his last days, nor even grew up closer to him. But distance was not an obstacle to maintain a nice familiar relationship.
One afternoon I was making dinner... Some spanish food... Rice and beans with pork shops. I was in front of the stove when suddenly, I start feeling like something or someone was in my back. I heard clearly someone saying "Yummi Yummi" very close to my ear from my right side, but was not a whisper... Ohh no, was clear as a normal male voice. My arm got numb, and for a couple of seconds the image of my uncle came trough my mind. I looked back. Nobody was there. My mom was sitting in the living room watching TV. I asked her if she heard something. She said no. I told her what happened and tears came to her eyes when she explained to me that my uncle used to look over her shoulder when she was cooking, making the same expression. 'Rice and beans was one of your uncle's favorite spanish foods'. She said.
I just looked to the kitchen again and said in loud voice with a smile in my face: "Ok, you can stay for dinner, but don't do that again. You scared me". Then I felt a deep sense of caring and affection that I can't describe.
My mom told me to pray for him and for all my family members that already passed away.
