In the past few years, I've noticed a couple of things about myself that are kind of unusual. I was hoping someone else might have some experiences like this, or someone might at least have a name for them.
(1) I find things. Except, I have to be asked to find it. For example, yesterday my mother's necklace broke. She was doing dishes when she noticed it was missing, and she thought that the dog might have broken the chain when she jumped up on her earlier. I told her to ask me to find it. I went outside where the dog was and dug around in leaves and waded through mud, and I didn't have any luck. Well, I came back in and found the chain in the sink where she had done the dishes. I told her to ask me to find the pendant, and I went back outside and found it within a few minutes (it had fallen into a pile of dead leaves at the base of a tree). However, when she asked me to find the necklace, I didn't "feel" it anywhere nearby. It kind of gets annoying because if I lose something, I have to have someone ask me to find it before I can. This isn't a single incident, but it's something that I've noticed more and more lately.
(2) Smells. I smell people. I associate people by scent not by the way they look. I can tell if two people are going to be able to get along with one another by the way they smell. (Example. My mother smells like flowers and water, but I can tell if she'll like a person if black pepper is in their scent). I can tell if two people will date by their scents. (Ex. My little sister smells like cotton candy. Nothing that she puts on will cover it up. Her boyfriend smells like butterscotch candies and heat. They smell really good together.) I've yet to meet a person who does not have a distinct, original smell. If someone is sick, their scent is "tainted" by whatever it is. (Ex. A girl in one of my classes got a really bad sinus infection, and her scent changed immediately, before she knew she was sick. I hadn't completely identified what her scent was before she got sick, so I can't tell you how it changed exactly. I immediately knew that she was sick, and I received some really weird looks and questions after I asked her if she was alright.) It is really getting to me lately. Most of all though, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
