My best friend has been experiencing some strange and painful stuff. This is urgent, because we don't think he'll last much longer like this.
Every once and a while, he would have a dream in which an entity would attack him in his sleep, except he would be able to fight it back and it would appear to back off. But recently (a couple of weeks ago to now), Something similar - nearly identical - would attack him from (a rough estimate of) around 3 to 5 AM. When it attacks, it's like it's trying to hurt him. But it's not like a physical attack, it's like an indescribable feeling no one would ever want to feel. He wakes up right after that and has a throbbing sensation in his head that's just like the attack, but with more intensity.
Usually he sees the attack through his eyes, but occasionally he'll see the through the entity's eyes just before it attacks, and then he see's through his own eyes during the attack. During the attack, he feels helpless and tries to scream, but is unable and feels as if he can't breathe.
Sometimes the entity will take on a rainbow-ish color, but has no solid form. The most he can see is that it has no eyes or mouth, but instead has dents or holes where the mouth or eyes would be. If it even has a face. Even more recently (last night), he couldn't see the entity attack him, but he still felt it.
In the dreams he is awake but can't move. The dreams are only a few seconds long, but feels like an eternity. He stayed up one night from 3 to 5 AM and had a head splitting headache the whole time, not to mention being in constant fear that it will attack in real life. Some said that having a Holy Bible next to his bed would help, but it didn't do anything.
This has been happening every night for a few weeks now, and it has become too unbearable to be just a dream. He and I both are afraid to sleep now, him more intensely because he's actually experiencing it. We seriously need help with this, as soon and as accurate as possible. And we're not quite sure if this is a ghost or anything. If there is anything we can do, please tell us.
