A prediction I gave 8 months ago that has taken hold now is precipitating this. World Wide and in the US there will be terrible environmental calamities and strange ones; tornados, hurricanes, etc. And there will be a wreaking of the economy. In the next year from this date, there will be power struggles that begin to reshape the United States hegemony. This will seem surprising and organic. It is not, the fundamental players are laying the under girding now. A few names that we will hear with increasing intensity are the aggressors of this change; Vlad Putin, Hugo Chavez, (not Fidel Castro) Cuba. The occurrences of the last 7 years have left the US vulnerable. The missing piece of our weakness is our military abroad. Make no doubt this has weakened us! Military and economy is anemic. The Monroe Doctrine will be employed, then when we can not defend our interests, it will be useless. We are vulnerable. Change is underway, and average US citizen will not enjoy it. As usual the very wealthy and very powerful will have their human shield and will be unscathed. Gather your strength you will need it.

Or there won't be enough to go around for all the people in this great country. I can see people stocking up, on items they can keep for long peroids of time.
Food hoarding for example. And then many people won't even use it, as they won't be around to use it any longer.
There will be much death, from the many unusual climates that will roll in. What use to be just regular climate will be to the extreme. Extreme heat killing lots of people, or extreme cold doing the same.
It will be sooner then we expect. It's coming as even our tv tells us to prepare with water, food and clothing, battery operated radios, lamps etc. It's coming, and coming fast.
I feel the rumbling under my feet more often then I did when I wrote "Earthquakes in unusual places".
Get ready - because here it comes!
