Seeing Smoke Like Mist After Suddenly Waking Up

For a few months now I've been waking up suddenly throughout the night and immediately, as if being fully awake, I see smoke like mist floating from the ceiling, the walls and always moving to the left. Then it disappears quickly. I noticed regardless of where I'm facing while sleeping it always concentrated to the direction of where my head is facing, for example if I'm sleeping on my side and I'm facing to the left wall then the mist will be concentrated to that side.

This has been going on nearly every night and I don't know why I suddenly wake up as if I'm fully awake and seeing this smoky mist. The colour is usually grey or white. Regardless of where I'm sleeping, it usually appears.

I don't consider myself psychic or anything but have on a couple of occasions could sense a presence in a room, have ghostly dreams and that's it.

At first I was afraid and could not fall asleep again but lately have praying before going to bed so I'm not as afraid but I still wake up suddenly almost every night and seeing the mist. This is causing me a lot of sleepless nights and is affecting my daily life even though I try not to let it.

A couple of weeks ago I went to see a clairvoyant and she couldn't pick up anything and wasn't able to help me. I want to protect myself and my partner and don't want this entity or entities to be around me but it seems that it only appears during the time between when I'm sleeping and waking otherwise I don't see it.

I would love to hear any comment regarding what I'm experiencing and would appreciate any suggestion on how I could deal with it.

I thought I would also reply because I have had some similiar experiences. It started about 6 years ago. I lived in another town then and I was writing a book about some spiritual experences that I was having.

Just giving you a bit of background as it may have some bearing on the occurances. At the time it had been a while since I had been doing meduimship, and I was in contact with a spiritual teacher and whilst writing the communication down I had opened all my Chakaras. This happened automatically and I was not consciously aware of it.

One evening I went to bed and woke up in the night. There was a shadow in the doorway of my bedroom. It looked like the shadow of an old witch. It was a totally stereotypical image. I was not particularly alarmed. I was watching the shadow and it seemed to have a lamp in its hand. Really I could just simply see the shadow of a lamp.

From the lamp a mist was entering the room. I could clearly see the mist running along the ceiling. As I watched the mist I began to see figures in the mist. People. Then as the mist thickened they began to appear more clearly. The bottom half of the people, from the waist down appeared encompassed by the mist. Then a figure entered the room and he was the same, though he was much larger. They seemned to be gesturing to me, as if commenting on me, then the man, who seemed to some sort of authority, looked down at me and seemed to dismiss me and then moved out of the room.

There was a previous experience which was similiar but this time there was a woman dressed in a wedding dress. I remembered my Mother talking about a friend of hers who died the day before she was due to be married. I think somehow this was related.

Two days ago, which effectively is 9 years later than the previous experiences I was in bed (in a totally different house) and I had woken up about 2:00 aim. I looked to the right of me at my alarm clock and I could see mist rolling over the little table that my alarm clock was on. What is peculiar about these experiences is that I am fully awake and I can clearly see the mist. I sat up in bed and could clearly see the mist happening again. It was happening for about 5 minutes. It was still happening but I turned away from it and went to sleep.

I will keep posting if it happens again.

I know this is very old so I'm not sure if anyone will see this but I'm glad I stumbled across this site. Everyone is describing what I've been seeing perfectly. I honestly thought I was going crazy. We moved into a 200 year old home about 8 months ago and the house has a lot of amazing history. Because of that I did expect some activity but I hadn't seen anything for a while. But for the past few months I've been waking up from a deep sleep and seeing a white mass or fog hovering next to me. We have slanted ceilings in our bedroom and it's usually in the corner where the wall meets the slant which is at eye level. I would stare and it would eventually go away. But last night as I was staring at it I watched it slowly slide up the slant and go through the ceiling into the attic. It really scared me, especially since my husband was away for work. I've also woke him up several times when I see it but he sees nothing and it doesn't wake him up. Has anyone figured out what it is or how to manage it? I'm hoping it's not a bad spirit, I wouldn't be able to stay here if so. We are hoping this is our forever home where we will start our family and I would hate for that to ruin it.

Hello Baxter,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the mist smoke.

Something similar has been happening with me.

It frequently occurs when I wake up during the night. But it's not always at night.

There is no particular pattern of events that I can identify. I will simply wake up. Our bedroom is very dimly lit -- just enough light not to step on the three dogs that move tbeir sleeping locations all during the night.

The first time this happened, I was terrified because it looked like the room was filled with smoke. But when that startled me into full alertness, I realized there was no smell, heat, or any other indication of smoke or fire.

If I blinked quickly, there is no change. But if I squeeze my eyes tight for 10 seconds or so, it's all clear when I reopen my eyes.

This is very sporadic. And a few times I have walked down the hall during the day, and the living room is filled with this mist. Then without even blinking it's gone after 2-4 seconds.

The other day I was experimenting with the ancient Egyptian process of sun gazing. The sun had nearly set, and I looked to the side of the sun for 10-15 seconds. When I looked away, the mist appeared, backlit by the fading sun. The mist shimmered and moved in an upward direction. After a few seconds, it was gone.

I have basically written all this off to seeing some kind of energy field. The mist started showing up after a very spiritual experience during the August 2017 full eclipse.

I am looking forward to reading all the other comments -- I wanted to write this first so as not to be predisposed by the experiences of all the others.

Do you have any updates? Really curious to know if this has changed for you in any way.

Thanks!

hello, this is an old post, but its top result on google so other may come and read. I want to share my experience.

I've had sleep paralysis before, I used to panic because of breathing, but after researching I found out I can breath automatically (as we do while we sleep). So then the next time I had it, I relaxed instead of panic and it was calm, I pushed out to the side and I had an OBE experience. So I am comfortable in sleep paralysis.

Last night I had a different experience, like many others had. An entitiy sitting on my chest. The entity did not have a form, it was like black smoke. I've seen black smoke before, once I was in a club, I took in a huge ballon of laughing gas, the music slowed down like they turned of the record player, and I sat on the club floor, and I remember seeing black smoke inside every person around me on the dance floor, they were all speaking to eachother while looking at me. Even though the bodies were facing the opposite way. I heard whispers like "what happened to him?" "is he ok?" blah blah. So I know they are human spirits.

Back to last night. I had this entity on me. It was a bit mad like shouting at me when I think of particular things. The shouting translated like energy. You know on a rollercoaster when you resist you feel the gforce in your chest? Its like that, like an amplification of that tight chest. But I relaxed and I said "hey are you my spirit guide, what's up? Hows it going?" It didn't speak to me but it opened up, it communicated to me through images, it took me to my old family home, and I remember confusing angles and scenes that I can't translate into any message. It didn't make much sense. It was not attacking me, it was more annoyed at me. Maybe I was being slack or messing up my life?

I had depression for last 2 or 3 days, after giving up smoking weed. So maybe the entity was sitting on my chest because it was repairing my heart chackra? I think it was my father, he was a bit angry in that way, but not agressive, just loud and vocal but halmless. I feel that any black smoke is from people we know on the spirit level, be it dead family freinds, or spirit guides.

I was told in a channelling that "dont be afraid of creatures that would scare others". Meaning an entity that is your spirit guide might scare you because it looks like a goblin, but they are not evil, they are your freinds and they are working with you and protecting you. Relax, and be friendly, you will be supprised by its reaction. Maybe you need a good kick up the arse to get your life in check;-) Or you need some healing. Your soul is indistructable and only things can happen to you can happen with your permission. So... Use that as reassurance and be more confidenct if it happens to you.

Hi Luminous, my partner stopped using things to see if spirits would come and I prayed every night for protection for him and for my son as well as myself. It did eventually stop. I am still frightened but am not seeing mists now thank goodness. I also have a cross present. I'm just glad it is stopped for now, thank goodness. It was horrid. I was too scared to fall asleep. I still am not sure what was happening but glad its gone

Even though this post is incredibly old... I just took the time to register an account just to write this comment. I've been experiencing the smoke filling my room in the middle of the day for about a week or so now. I really didn't think much of it and chalked it up to being tired. But I just had one of the most frightening moments of my life about an hour ago. After pulling two all nighters back to back finishing a research paper, it wouldn't normally surprise me to be a little jumpy and for my eyes to start playing tricks on me... I've experienced that a ton of times as a college student. This was something on a whole new level that I could only describe as what I would imagine psychosis must feel like. I walked out of my room and right into a shadowy figure of a person. Unlike the experience of my eyes playing tricks on me... This thing didn't go away. It stayed in front of me and for the first time I was scared to the point of having to flip the lights on to make it disappear. Here's the crazier part... Once I got the lights on, there was no more scary, black, smoke shadow person... But I kid you not, I stared at what looked like a teenage girl crying and wiping her eyes in front of me for a good 10 seconds. She was so faint... But she was there. It was like someone turned her opacity down to 5% in real life. I haven't been able to sleep or turn off the lights in my room yet because everytime I do, the room fills with shadows lurking around everywhere. What the hell is happening to me? I'm about to have my B.S. In Chemistry in a week, so experiencing something that I can't explain is a little overwhelming. If anyone wants to contact me, my email is brownbt [at] dukes.jmu.edu

Hi -- I placed a similar story about waking up suddenly and seeing smoke. It was happening all the time and after I started a new job, I wasn't waking up and seeing them or? - well, only once I saw three little clouds in a row but went right back to sleep. I know it wasn't a dream because I forget dreams but this I remember and means I was awake. I wonder if they are good spirits trying to help and comfort or ones that hover and try to create bad dreams and feed off individuals that are heavy dreamers. Any one have an answer to this?

I am hoping this is helpful. Ihave experienced all sorts of paranornal incidents and psychic events such as a basically haunted house. It was following my mother. Never play with a ouija board. Opens doors and let's anything in.
This smoke is what I call ghost mist and I'm sure you could probably look it up anywhere online. Its a common occurence so do not worry to much about seeing it. Me my mom and my grandmother saw it in our house and many I have talked to. It just means a spirit is present. You may be waking because you sense it orr... Its waking you for some reason. Always ignore when something says your name. Its nothing ever good. Saw that in a reply to yourtopic. You don't need to pray to a specific religion or believe in it but a focus on a higher power for prayer really helps. Personally I would ask my guardians and anytjing from god (higher energy, universe) to remove this spirit if it is not sent by god* in the name of god*.get out. Leave. Picture a brillant white light surrounding you as you do all this. If things worsen or persist look around for a psychic who also does exorcisms they are morelikely to know how to clear a house of anything. Sage alone does not usually work. Thats just for negative energy.
Anywho hoped this reached you in good time and I wish you goodluck. You may think I'm crazy now but it seems your an open person since you considered this site to post. Thanks. Email me if needed

I know this is an old article but word for word, I am experiencing this every night. I wake up and there is a white or grey mist there hovering above me. It disappears fast always to the left. It is very close and startled me. I struggle getting back to sleep and have started sleeping with the light on again.

I am not a psychic or medium or anything like that. I don't know what it is, whether it is my brain playing tricks or something else. I just could not believe someone else was having exactly the same thing as me.

I wish I had answers so I could sleep at night. This has been happening on and off for a few months but is now every night. If I sleep in the day I don't get this issue. It happened in another bedroom too one night, black mist that looked like a shadow this time though. Exactly the same, disappeared left quickly as soon as I woke up. I'm so tired

I had an experience in the old Bee-Bennett house in hang town. The house is said to be haunted and despite being open minded and ready for a ghost siting, I never saw one. What I did see may be what everyone else was claiming to be a ghost. It was described as a mist that would float around the corners of the room and vanish as you would enter. One day as I was facing several people and ghosts were the farthest things from my mind, I was looking straight ahead (wide awake, sober and in good lighting) when a rolling, billowing cloud of thick dark grey smoke came at my face like a person had just exhaled a large slow breath of cigar smoke. I held my breath as my brain quickly identified the mass of smoke was upon me but just as I did the whole cloud of smoke vanished before me and the people in front of me were startled by my sudden gasp for air and frightened look. I have never seen or heard of anything like it until now.

Hi, I was on vacation last week in Belgium, and had a very similar experience as you. I remember having vivid dreams and at some point heard a shriek like call in my name 'wally'. I can't remember if it occurred at the same time I woke up wide awake like something had shocked orbstartled me. I rememberbsitting quickly in bed and seeing a black mist with black like squares swirling looking kind of like a small tornado,. It moved quickly of the window which was open. I remember thinking to myself if this real or a dream. For some reason I layedvdown quickly and went back to bed. When I awoke in the morning I clearly remember this experience but still could not determine if it was real or part of a dream. After a few days I began to think more and more about it and after I googled ' black ghost ' I for the first time read or knew about spiritsbor ghostsbcommonly being reported as a black like mist or cloud. When I read this article where in particular you saw the black entity right after being awaked, I am now feeling that perhaps this was a true encounter as this has occurred commonly enough with others on this post. I would like to post and share with Antone more about this as I am completely freakedbout now while at the same time excited because I have just so happen to have been praying very much to spirits of those deceaeses that I knew

I used to see this at my old house where my mother still lives.
I remember coming home one night after a ride out on my Vespa and getting ready for bed (which was in the attics) and switched off the light and there was this strong slow moving smoke like waves around 4 foot of the ground and around half a metre long? But the strange thing was I never rushed down and told my mother but all I did was put the light on and go to sleep with my pillow over my head, by 2.00am I was so sick of the light being on I switched it off and found that the smoke thing had.
This happened around half a dozen times and I would just go to sleep if I had a beer or but the light on if I was out on my scooter but one night on of my friends from the Scooter club scooter had broken down so I said he could stay at my house so I put a mattress at the bottom of my bed and the next morning he told me he woke up in the middle of the night and saw sort of smoke hovering above him?.

I really wish back then that I have spent more time studying it and also took a picture but didn't have a camera as this was 1990.
My mother has said she thinks she seen a servant girl in the attics back in the 1980's and there has been some strange going's on but was told by someone that the the street has Laylines running towards the local church and 4 people in the street like my mother suffer from Multiple Sclerosis.

i saw something similar 3 times its like brown mist almost like when you move your hands too fast and you can see the motion. It moves on the wall and disappears in thin airs. I once saw it in the kitchen moving down the cabinets and enter the hole under the kichen sink. I still want to know what I saw 😕

I've just woken up and watched a trail of red mist slowly float away from me and out of my bedroom door. The mist was concentrated in some areas, almost glowing red, whilst wispy plumes clung to and trailed after it. This entity, as best a description or feeling as I can give it, seemed to wake me.

Having experienced quite a few hallucinations and remembering each of the few full nights sleep I've ever had, there are a lot of logical reasons as to why I was staring at this slow, jilted moving mass with such clarity and horror. This was not a good feeling, like something had come to claim me, beckoning for my removal.

This is a payment I have to make. Or maybe it's a trail that I have to traverse. My mind is struggling to reconcile my past with the possible futures it plays out, and this mist has grabbed me from an hour of shuteye to determine that future. After spending a lifetime chasing the darkness and avoiding mediocrity, I truly fear following the mist. I fear the void I proclaim as all matter and energy because it is dark and it WANTS me. And I know the pain of the void because I have been there at its collapse and rebirth.

The clarity of this revelation brings tears to my eyes. I have turned my back on the void and like some child, screw my eyelids tight whilst the beast hovers behind me, it's mouth slowly widening whilst descending, a giant fish mouth swallowing me whole, trapping me in its belly and constricting my movement until I am nothing but that lump in my throat focused on the worst of my anxiety and cowardice.

I do nothing but dream of death when awake and asleep. Now that it is here, I know there is no control in its presence. Just the mist leading me down a disappearing path to the void, and no matter if I stumble, fall or stop, there is no turning back.

I just saw something last night at 2 different times. The first time I woke up I was sleeping on my side facing the closet that is all mirrored. I saw a red mist moving up from me to the ceiling. Once the mist got as high as the moon window near the top of the ceiling behind me, it disappeared. A few hours later I saw it again but only thing time the mist was a grayish color. I didn't feel anything good or bad, it was just a mist. When I was a child up until my late 20's I used to have night terrors. I really hope this is not coming back as those were truly terrifying.

I don't know but its kind of similar to what's happening to me at the moment...

I am working in a call center right now and it all started when I took my break and smoked cigarette outside and I sat down, I finish smoking and started texting but I noticed that there is some smoke like hot energy coming from my hands then I looked around and I see everywhere there light grey coming out everywhere... I was enticed by this when I was looking at my friend and I see the smoke coming out of his back and everything I look, I can see the smoke hot like thing when I clearly focus on something more... Its weir-ding me out cause I read different comment like entities or ghost and I don't believe those thing although its creepy... I just want some accurate information if what is this cause its been happening like more than a week now... Please shoot me an email if you do have answers:) thank you...

Hi.

I realize that this story is several years old now but I am very happy to have found it.

Sorry to say that I might not be of much help but your story describes my several recent experiences almost exactly.

And this makes me feel slightly more curious and less crazy about it all.

I wake up, facing he ceeling.
I know that I am clearly awake and I know that what I am seeing is impossible.

Good to know is that my bed is placed higher up, with perhaps 1 meter from me to the ceeling when I am lying down.

I see vivid, almost life like mist/smoke... Just like if it was very light liquid making waves or motions in the ceeling.

Here is how it looked to me.
The color of this mist is mostly dark grey or dark silvery, with slihtly goldy reflections, or autumn orange/red reflections, reminding me of the ligth from a sunset.

I can sometimes see what looks like energetic patterns in the begining of this experience.
Sometimes I even imsgined that it was a dreamcontrolming entity that I could see... Until I realizehow rediculous it seems.

The mist could sometimes remind me of ocean waves, but upside down.

At one point I moved my hand throuh the mist and watched the mist curl and move from my hand disturbing its precense.

Someone commented that it could be related to being pulled out of your deep sleep (rem sleep) and that the parts of your brain that controls your dreams would then still be working att 110% resulting I dreaming while awake.

I myself actually believe this is very true in my case.
But what I can't explain is why we would see something soo similar, unless it is just our eyes trying to regain vision.

At this time I am also experiencing extreme sleeping problems... Sleeping some 12-15 hours per day.

When I first googled up this, I found that this could be a symptom of sleep apnea or even narcolepsy (which sounds quite extreme to me)

Anyway, thanks for posting this.
Strange to find it on a site like this but I googled for "halucination misty dreamy smoke"

Best regards
Candergart

Hello Baxter.
I was searching for information in relation to another experience I had recently when I came across your story.
It shocked me! Because my wife and I both had this exact same experience, at the exact same time! So do not let others tell you what you did or did not see.
How can two people have the same "eye problem" or "hallucination" at the same time?

My wife and I have been married close to 30 years now, and about 29 years ago, we were both in bed together, when, from my experience, I was woken up from a deep sleep by a feeling of impending doom, or pure evil! It was extremely terrifying, and it actually woke me right up! I shot up to a sitting position, and that's when I saw this grey/white smoke, or mist, fly away from us, and it travelled up our nine foot walls, and up through the ceiling!

I saw my wife shoot up into a sitting position at the exact same time as I had, and once the smoke had gone, I turned my attention to my wife. She was terrified! I didn't even have to ask her if she felt any fear, because I saw pure fear on her face!
I asked her what she had seen immediately, and she said she had seen a grey mist, or smoke!
Then I asked why she had sat up so fast? Was she awake and saw this smoke? No, she also was in a deep sleep, and had been woken up with a severe feeling of fear.

I know what happened, and I cannot give enough "proof" for a skeptic, but also, I cannot give too little "proof" to a believer. So here's what I truly believe happened.
As we slept, I believe a demonic spirit had approached my wife and I with evil intentions, who knows what these filthy creatures want right? But I believe with all my heart, as does my wife, that God caused us to wake up before this demon could have it's way with us. We both shot straight up into a sitting position and that evil creature took off, because demons are cowards.

uhhh maybe it has to do with the fact that you are waking up abruptly, and your brain is still flooded with the chemical which induces a dream like state. This chemical (DMT), has hallucenagenic properties, and can cause you to expereince many things that appear to be related to things discussed here. Moreover, as for the fog, your brain is trying to rewire your visual cortex to take sensory input from the real world, and disconnect from the dream world (produced in your brain), and it causes an overlapping effect. If you are unaware of this, it can cause panic, and panic + hallucenagenics can cause very distored and vivid expereinces. Sometimes scary. Sorry to burst your bubble guys

The is many different kinds of mist/smoke-like beings as described in many cultures and ancient texts, cultures like the Japanese, the Tibetan, Indian and other religious ancient texts of the Bible, Torah and especially in the Koran or Quran. These beings are referred to as Spirits in many Cultures but as a student of all spiritual and religions content that I can get my hands on, I find the smoke-like beings are well described as Jiins also known as Genies in the Quran 'see link below' but they are also mentioned as demons and spirit in Asian and even Japanese Samurai's scrolls about Samurai's that communicated with Spirits. As all well known the spirits dwell in the World of the Unseen and the only way to see spirits is when/if you are or happen to be in a dream-state, The Jinns or Spirits have free will and can be loving as well as harmful but this will be sensed by the person in contact with the spirit. Since these spirits have free will they can therefore influence human-beings emotionally negatively or positively. They can whisper poisonousness thoughts that would come off as your own voice/thought in your head although the thought goes against all that you stand for/morals/values/principles or they can inspire you to greatness with amazing creativity. The good spirits are nothing to be worried about as they are pure and good by nature. The bad spirits on the other hand can give you depression and all that is dark. The best way to avoid dark spirit is to seek spiritual guidance. I live you guys with this: I find it interesting that although it is scientific fact that Torah and Quran are older than the Bible except the Tibetan scrolls, all the books have some information about things that the other does n't have, for example God created three beings; Man that was made of clay and then God breathed life into him, made out of Gods image. Angels that was made out of Light and commanded into being, whom were created before mankind mind you, and last but not list the unseen/ the Jiins /Genies were made out of smoke and smokeless fire. The are dark smokes, light smokes and even blue smoke, grey smoke, all in different forms and shapes they choose including human like form. Personally I have only seen dark ones and not necessary evil and a grey one. The rest has been seen by others. I am highly spiritual and hyper sensitive as well as intuitive as a human being that I can usually sense things and I believe that all these/you individuals are also the same. You can either embrace your gifts or avoid them. That's all, good luck and don't do drugs.

Important to tell the doctor about the smelling of something burning. Sorry for grammar, I am using my phone and is not allowing edits.

Hi all, just today, my hubby and I were talking in the kitchen, suddenly I saw a vapor, looked like a white ribbon, rising from above his head and then it disappeared, I thought something must have been burning, but the stove had not been on for hours. He did not believe me at first but then he was convinced that I really saw it, he then confessed that he smelled something right at that moment when I saw the vapor. I am very scared, should I be worried for him, our family in general? Please somebody write back to me. I have never experienced anything like this ever before.
I really appreciate any feedback.
God bless us all!

I know it's been a month since anyone commented here but I'd like to share my experience. It was about half a year ago I was sleeping over at a friends house and jolted awake and sat up in bed without even thinking about it, kind of like reflex. Then I held a hand out and started babbling gibberish (sounded like another language). At the same time I could see a white mist/cloud/wall was right in my face. I have had similar experiences in the past but this is one of the most intense. If anyone has any idea what's going on here or has heard of similar occurrences please let me know. Thanks

I have experienced the same thing. But only happen a few times in my life. First time was when I was sleeping next to my daughter's father. That happened maybe 3 times. And then a few times with my ex fiancée. But there was one time that it scared me was when it was on the side of my ex fiancée. It was a red cloud but it had more to it. There was like a thick red part to it. It was pointing at my ex. And he was having a bad dream at the time. I sat there staring at it for a couple of seconds and then woke up my ex and it slowly went up into the roof.
Ive been looking for someone with information on this for years now...
If anyone has any serious information on this could they email me?

I know this is a very old post, but I felt the need to reply in case anyone else wakes up seeing smoke. It is your own energy that you are seeing I promise you. I know this because I see it all the time, especially in the dark and it is emanating from everyone and looks just like smoke. It even comes straight through the blanket. Sometimes I can see it pass in front of my face. It's ok, it's just you... And yes, it can fill a room especially if you are upset or frightened... Even excited. Just basically using more energy. You can see it easier when you just wake up I'm guessing because you are not focusing the way you have trained your eyes to see, you are looking at things a bit differently.

hi,
Little over a year ago I experienced a blue mist.
I was having what I recently learned as a sleep paralysis episode...
One night I was woke up by my dog... Barking and running around in the living room... I could hear her dog tags jingling (the sound was similar to when a dog shakes vigorously to dry off)
I was laying on my side and could see clearly into the living room from the bed. And I could clearly see a blue mist in the livingroom... And my dog was running back and forth through it and barking and shaking vigorously like she was clearing her coat of water after she had passed through it...
Back and forth she did this over and over then she walk out of my view... And I could no longer see the dog... So I thought what is that? And then I thought hey stop hurting my dog. And I tried to get up... But I couldn't move.
Then the mist talked to me... It said "don't be alarmed...I'm not hurting her... I'm just showing her what it feels like to not be trapped in her body.
I kept trying to get up but could not move... I was struggling and then the mist started to move toward me... Slowly... It got closer and I became very anxious... Still not being able to move... Then it passed through the doorway and wall that surrounded the door iinto the bedroom and finally through me...
It felt like a cross between a sneeze and the funny feeling you get when on a Ferris wheel... I remember shaking very hard while it was passing through me... It last for about 5 seconds... Then it was gone... And I could finally move... Then my dog came strolling into the bedroom wagging her tail... And jumped on the bed... And layed down

In reply to SHN.
Not possible from my personal experience. Good theory perhaps for someone elses situation. The reason I say this is because I have left my body, and without a doubt, know what that feels like...AND...I know what it looks like as well. On several (not all) occassions I could see my body as I was being "PULLED" upward from it. In other words, I would always at some point be facing myself and could clearly see everything all the way around me below from way up above. I have also witnessed myself speeding back into my body and then frantically sitting straight up knowing exactly what just happened because I was actually conscience the entire time. You see, while in flight I have undeniably felt that flutter you get in your stomache when you drive over hill to fast. I do not believe you can recreate such a rush in your stomache lying on your back while in a dream. Just like I mentioned in my earlier writings about the sharp breathy whisper of my name being said up against my ear. It's that feeling you get when someone actually blows sharp air into your ear or something you might relate to is that shocking feeling that runs through when a Bee buzzes right up against your ear...It's an undeniable feeling that everyone has experienced. What I can truthfully say, is that I do not second guess any of my experiences anymore. I only try to open my mind and analyze them from an intelligent perspective. With one question I may never have an answer to and that is "How ME" not so much YmeYme. Thankfully I do blieve in GOD with my whole Heart and because of that I feel safer. However, I recently had an experience within the last week that I can't bring myself to share at this time. Just know that it really shook me to the core! I have not been able to move past it as of yet. It's with me every minute of the days thus far. I hold my Faith in God and am grateful I have him to turn to."Thank GOD"! Because basically, there really aren't any people out there who can relate intellectually or intelligently to my experiences, or anyone who would merely be slightly inclined to hold your hand because they possess no personal identifiable abilities of their own. You have chronic back problems and the only people who can identify with your pain are those who have had bad backs...

I don't know if this applies to you, but what if you are the mist? The reason you see it is because you are still entering your body after suddenly waking up. You see it anyway you wake up because you come from that way.
