Guidance With My Psychic Abilities

It was recommended to me that I post this story here and ask for advice. Your input would be really appreciated.

I was raised in a Jehovah's Witness household and all talk of spirits/ghosts/entities/abilities etc was absolutely forbidden. No exceptions. I have been sensitive to energies as long as I can remember but I feel that the turning point or the point that my gifts really 'manifested' was during my mid teen years.

I was 16 when I had my first ever precognitive episode. It was so insignificant that I really thought nothing of it. My mum had given me a scooter so that I could get myself to and from school and work. My friends and I decided to take it for a joyride in the park down the road from my house. I was sitting on a hill with about 3 of my friends. Another of my friends (let's call him S) decided to drive the scooter to the other side of the park and back. He had a motorbike of his own and had grown up around bikes. He had given me lifts many times so I knew what he was capable of and was completely comfortable giving him a turn. On his way back to us a thought came to me which I verbalised to my friends, "he is going to fall". My friends all thought it was a joke because S was clearly in control. 5 seconds later he fell. Not hard enough to be hurt, luckily. He just all of a sudden tipped off the bike.

The next precognitive event was when I was at work and stepped out for a smoke. I was standing on the curb of the road just watching the traffic go by when I suddenly felt like someone was going to push me into the street where I was going to be hit by a car. I took a few steps backwards and looked around. No one was near me so I finished my smoke (away from the road, just to be safe) and went back inside. About an hour later we heard tyres screeching in the road right where I had been smoking. It turns out that someone had tripped and accidentally pushed another person into the road where they were hit by a car. I was officially freaked out.

The next event of significance was when my boyfriend (now husband) asked if he could use my scooter to get to work. I said yes and immediately regretted it. I suddenly burst into a fit of tears and sobbed to him about how he was going to be hit by a car. He told me I was being silly but let me ride with him to work. We were hit by a car which was trying to escape the police. My boyfriend broke his collar bone and dislocated his shoulder. I was 100% fine.

Next was my brother-in-law who is 3 years younger than me. He is staying with us until he can support himself. It was the end of 2016 (October). I suddenly had this horrible feeling that something was wrong with my brother. I called him immediately and found out that he had lost his job and had been told to go home. This happened again in December 2017 when he again lost his job.

I often get these terrible feelings and I don't always know who or what they are related to and it absolutely kills me. I have come to trust my feelings (as have my husband and brother) and I hate knowing that someone is or is going to experience something negative and there is nothing I can do about it.

My other ability is a little hard to explain (mostly because I can barely explain it to myself) but I will do my best. Since I was a child (the first time this happened as far as I can remember was when I was about 5 years old) I have been able to almost wish for anything and it comes true. It can't just be a simple want; I have to NEED whatever it is deep down in my soul. The first time I really wanted a kitten (as I said, I was 5 and this was my greatest desire in the world). My family said no and that was that. About a month after I had expressed my wish for a kitten, my mum and I found two tiny kittens in a box in a gutter. She had raised kittens before so we took them home to look after until they were old enough for adoption. My mum fell in love and we ended up keeping them. The second time was when I was 15 and my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) broke up with me. It broke me because I already knew I was in love with him. He was absolutely adamant that we were not suited for each other. I begged the Universe (for lack of a better word) for him to change his mind. Three months later, out of the blue, he changed his mind and we have now been together for over 10 years.

Before I had children I always wanted 1 boy and then 1 girl (2 years apart). Both of my children were conceived by accident (I was on the pill when my son was conceived and I was on the injection AND using condoms when my daughter was conceived). My boy will be 6 in February and my girl will be 4 in August (they are almost EXACTLY 2 years apart). There have been many, many, MANY other instances when this 'ability' has come through but I feel this post is already too long.

Your thoughts on all three of the above would be highly appreciated. I don't have any kind of training or background knowledge in any of this as it was forbidden when I lived with my mum and I live in a city in South Africa where this kind of thing really is not prevalent at all. I have done internet research but there is SO much conflicting information out there and I can never find anything that FEELS right. I would really appreciate it if you could give me pointers on where to start my research/studies. I would love to develop my abilities (even if it is only to learn to control them) as they are running pretty much rampant at the moment and I have no control.

Peace.

LeBec,

No, I do not use shielding to fend off energies or emotions. I was not aware that such a thing even existed. I did not even know what an empath was until 2 or 3 years ago.

I had inherited abilities that came into play all my life, and was familiar with most of the proper names for those abilities. Still, there were voids in my personal knowledge.

I also was not fully aware of some aspects of out of body experiences. A crucial area for me was the world or dreams. There is more to that aspect of psychic phenomenon than most people realize.

What it comes to, I think, is learn and grow. That will take a lifetime as you discover more about yourself and hone your abilities.

I suggest you go to the top of this page and located a block with the word "Articles." There you will find information that will help give you a baseline of knowledge.

Good luck and enjoy.

I am glad that you managed to find a middle ground of sorts with your Empathetic ability. It is such a wonderful gift but it comes at a very high price! If you don't mind me asking, do you use any particular techniques to shield yourself from unwanted energies and emotions?

Thank you, Jubeele

Once again your words have brought comfort and guidance.

I will definitely look into the deep breathing exercises. It would be amazing to have clear thoughts on all of these matters.

I have to admit that there have been times in my life (mostly during my teenage years) where I 'wished' for something to happen and regretted it once it did happen. I am more cautious now and try to fully evaluate these 'wishes' before I 'send them out' (I don't know how else to describe this because I'm not actually sure how it all works). I am trying to find more information on this ability and will hopefully be able to give it a name soon.

I am very excited to explore this page properly and I am sure that I will find a wealth of information here.

Thanks again

I'm an empath as well. There were times it was unbearable. I finally resorted to some rather intense prayer as I requested to have that ability taken from me. Then, one day, I could sense a change. I am still an empath, but it is much more manageable.

Hi LeBec,

It sounds to me that you're very gifted and your abilities fully manifested at the onset of puberty. The sensations can be overwhelming. All gifts come with its share of responsibilities.

I would suggest baby steps first with your gifts. You may wish to try deep breathing techniques as a prelude to preparing yourself for meditation. This is to provide discipline and focus for your mind. With meditation and practice, control will surely come.

I've found that when I meditate, my thoughts become quiet and calm. Suddenly a clear thought will float to the surface of my consciousness. I will examine it logically, assess and digest the information. This is how I determine what I need to do when faced with difficult or conflicting choices.

You must be patient and gentle with yourself. Don't take on the "blame" or "responsibility" when circumstances are beyond your control. It won't be easy, but the journey will be worth it. You mustn't be afraid because your gift is a part of you, waiting to be nurtured and accepted.

Also, if you feel that your desires actually create some form of "wish-fulfilment" to happen, then I would advise some caution. Just in case...

Do take the time to read the experiences of others on this site. There's a wealth of knowledge here that will benefit you. I've learned a lot about my own empathetic abilities from many others here too.

If you have need of a friendly voice, my email is among the details on my profile page. I wish you well on your journey. ❤

MrRiggs

You have been most helpful in guiding me to this site as well as in your response to my post. Thank you.

I have to admit that it is a little scary at times when I get these feelings and I have no idea what to do with them. I am most DEFINITELY an Empath (it's quite bad, actually and I am still learning how to shield myself from unwanted emotions) and I think being an Empath as well as Psychic is very useful and very difficult at the same time. I suppose the best way to learn is to throw yourself in the deep end:).

Your thoughts on when the Psychic abilities are strongest are intriguing. Now that you have put the words in front of me, it makes complete sense! Just goes to show that regular meditation will help to increase the strength of our abilities (as well as bring us peace of mind. BONUS!).

Thank you again.

Glad to see you found your way to the psychic side of YGS.

I'll start you out by saying that I have been psychic all my life. It has never been controllable. It has varied in intensity during the course of my life.

Looking back, when life was easy and good, the ability was readily apparent. During times of stress or trouble, when I was mentally occupied with the difficulties of life, psychic ability was less noticeable.

Perhaps age had something to do with how intensely psychic ability presented itself. I tend to believe the bigger influence was being at ease (or peace) and clarity of mind.

Also, the more confident you become in your skills, the easier the flow.

Now you have your foot in the door. Let's see who else speaks up.

Welcome.
