There is a lot of history for this, so I apologize in advance for the wall of text.
There is a being that has been around me since High School, that I call Aryk. Aryk first appeared at a sleepover my friend was having for her 16th birthday. Pretty much every single girl who was at this party was a Sensitive in some fashion or another, and so we were all participating in activities like palm readings, past life readings, playing with auras, etc. This apparently attracted the attention of some "things" that were nearby, because around 11 or 12 the mirrored door to the girl's closet suddenly slid open. She just closed it, thinking nothing of it. Then it slid open again, wider this time. She closed it again, but it just kept opening. Then some of us noticed shadows moving around the edges of the mirror.
At about this time, we all felt a heavy and negative presence gathering outside the wall with a window on it, just next to her closet. I know we all felt it, because we all went quiet, and we were all either looking at the window, or the closet. Then one of her three dogs downstairs started barking, so the birthday girl ran downstairs and brought up the animals, to help calm them. However, once they were in the room, they started whimpering and trying to get out of the room. We were all starting to panic at this point, because the shadows in the mirror were getting darker, and the presence at the window was getting stronger. One girl started crying because she was sure she saw a demonic face in the mirror, and the rest of us began focusing our energy or praying to banish away the dark entities.
The birthday girl actually ended up temporarily possessed by something, suddenly going slack and just gazing blankly around the room. Another of my friends touched her, and she could see the whatever it was inside our friend looking around the room. She was terrified by what she saw, and let go. A moment later, the birthday girl was back to normal, with no memory of what had happened. The whole mess finally died down about 3am, but we were all too terrified to sleep.
This incident led to a very messy and confusing few months were everyone's psychic energy was off kilter. The birthday girl told everyone about a week later that she had spoken to a demon named Aryk. Initially, I gave her a lot of merit for this, because around the time that she came up with this story, I had started drawing the mental impressions I was getting of spirits I felt nearby, and her description of Aryk was similar to one I had drawn earlier that week. Long black hair, pitch black, unnaturally shaped eyes, and a wide black grin. Her description had more embellishments, such as exotic tattoos, but other than that, they were similar.
As time went on, her stories about Aryk and what he wanted evolved into elaborate, and obvious fiction that she was using to get attention. This became most obvious when she tried to tell me that this Aryk had kidnapped my guardian spirit, whom I could clearly feel near me, and when another friend of mine started claiming to be possessed by him and that he was being used so he could take over the world.
So why do I believe Aryk is real? First of all, I was on the phone with the friend who was claiming to be possessed by him, when I saw Aryk's face reflected on the glass of one of my photos. Second, a couple years after all the drama blew over, I was uploading photos from my camera when I came across a shot that looked like I had accidentally taken a photo of darkness. I opened the file though, and I saw the lower half of a face- a dark, unnatural eye, and a wide black grin. The time stamp was for a time when I know I hadn't even touched my camera. I still have the photo if anyone is interested in seeing it.
There have also been recent encounters with him, had by others, that tell me he is real. Of my friends texted me in the middle of the night, because she had a dream about a spirit friend of hers, who told her about Aryk. She texted me, asking if I had a friend named Aryk. I was drunk at the time, so I didn't think much of it, and answered, yes, in a way. Neither of us thought about this for a long time, but it came up recently. My ex girlfriend moved in with me not long ago, and she has seen him on at least one occasion, when she woke up and looked across the bed and saw him staring at my ex boyfriend.
After so many different instances in which I or others have had experiences with him, I started attempting to contact him. My first serious attempt, I sat on my couch and stuck out my arm. I told him that I would ask him yes or no questions, and he was to touch my hand to reply- one touch for yes, two for no. Then, when I said "Aryk" to ask my first question, I felt a flare of anger, and his energy left the room. I realized then that Aryk was not his real name, and he had left because he was offended.
My next bout of attempts, I tried automatic writing, partially because I have always wanted to do it, and partially because I knew I could not handle trying to conjure his image. After a couple failed attempts (I found out I was attempting it the wrong way) I figured out a system that worked, and begun getting some answers from him.
He insisted he meant me no harm, but was rather just fascinated by me, and wanted to be near me. He also told me that he had indeed shown up the night of the sleepover, but was not among those who meant us harm. He also fiercely emphasized that he had nothing to do with my friend's stories about him, that she had seen him by accident and used him for her own purposes.
The reason why I am seeking help though, is because no matter how many times I ask, he will never tell me his real name, and will not tell me what he is. This alone has led me to doubt him. A lot of what he has said to me, I sense truth in, but there is an air of doubt that lingers around him, and I am unsure how to go about getting answers.
So what I am wanting is thoughts on what or who he actually is, what I can do to find out, and what I should do about him. He does not seem able to do me any harm, but I think it's best I know what I am up against.
